  • Mets' Travis d'Arnaud: Placed on DL on Tuesday

D'Arnaud (shoulder) was placed on the DL on Tuesday.

D'Arnaud underwent further testing earlier Tuesday which revealed a right rotator cuff strain, leading to the DL stint. It's unclear how much time he'll be sidelined for, but Kevin Plawecki figures to see the bulk of the action behind home plate in his stead, while catcher Rene Rivera was recalled in a corresponding move.

  • Mets' Travis d'Arnaud: Medical tests on tap for Tuesday

D'Arnaud (shoulder) will undergo further medical testing Tuesday, Adam Rubin of ESPN reports.

D'Arnaud first started to feel discomfort in his right shoulder Monday after a throw to second. His situation should be cleared up following the release of his medical results Tuesday, although early indications suggest he'll have to miss time since Triple-A catcher Rene Rivera was pulled early from Monday's game after just one at-bat, likely indicating a call-up. That said, Kevin Plawecki will serve as the Mets' primary catcher in the potential absence of d'Arnaud.

  • Mets' Travis d'Arnaud: Leaves game with shoulder discomfort

D'Arnaud left Monday's game against the Reds after experiencing shoulder discomfort, Adam Rubin of ESPN reports.

D'Arnaud was 1-for-3 but was replaced by Kevin Plawecki behind the plate to begin the eighth inning. The Mets should release more information soon with the extent of his injury still unclear.

  • Padres' Christian Bethancourt: Goes deep in spot start versus Cardinals

Bethancourt went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Sunday's loss to the Cardinals.

Bethancourt was making a spot start for Derek Norris Sunday, and he collected his fourth hit, and first long ball, of the season. The former top prospect will likely continue to play sparingly behind Norris, and he carries limited fantasy value outside of daily formats when he does see at-bats.

  • Marlins' J.T. Realmuto: Hits game-winning homer Sunday

Realmuto went 4-for-4 with a homer and a double Sunday at the Giants.

Realmuto's first blast of the season broke up a tie game in the eighth inning, and was the deciding run in the Marlins' victory. After getting off to a hot start to the season, his big afternoon ended a 2-for-26 slump. In addition, his two extra-base hits equaled his total from the previous 13 games this month.

  • Mets' Travis d'Arnaud: Out of the lineup Sunday

D'Arnaud is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Braves.

He'll get a day of rest after playing on Saturday night, giving way to Kevin Plawecki behind the plate. D'Arnaud recently broke out of a hitting slump, collecting four hits and three runs in his last three games. Plawecki will face Aaron Blair, who is making his major league debut.

  • Reds' Devin Mesoraco: Resting Sunday

Mesoraco is not in the starting lineup Sunday against the Cubs.

After starting three straight, Mesoraco will be given the day off for the afternoon contest. April has been a struggle for the Reds' primary backstop, as Mesoraco has slashed just .143/.234/.167 over the season's first 47 plate appearances. He'll give way to Tucker Barnhart on Sunday.

  • Padres' Austin Hedges: Placed on 7-day DL

Hedges was placed on the 7-day, minor league DL on Saturday due to a hand contusion, Dennis Lin of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

After Christian Bethancourt won the backup catching gig to Derek Norris this spring, Hedges was assigned to Triple-A El Paso, where he's spent the entirety of the season. Prior to the injury, Hedges put together a .333/.385/.583 line with two homers, nine RBI, and seven runs in 36 at-bats.

  • Marlins' J.T. Realmuto: Out of Saturday's lineup

Realmuto is not in Saturday's lineup against the Giants, the Miami Herald's Andre Fernandez reports.

He has started four of the last five games, and will get the day off again Saturday with Jose Fernandez on the mound. Jeff Mathis will start at catcher and hit eighth Saturday against Jake Peavy and the Giants.

  • Dodgers' Yasmani Grandal: Out of Saturday's lineup

Grandal is out of the lineup Saturday, the Los Angeles Times' Andy McCullough reports.

He is 4-for-8 over his last three games, with three walks also mixed in over that span, but after catching three straight games, the Dodgers will turn to A.J. Ellis behind the dish.
