  • Mets' Francisco Alvarez: Idle Tuesday

Alvarez isn't in the Mets' lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rockies.

Alvarez will get a breather Tuesday after going 4-for-13 with an RBI and two runs scored over his last three games. Luis Torrens will catch for right-hander Luis Severino and bat seventh.

  • Padres' Kyle Higashioka: On bench Tuesday

Higashioka is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Pirates, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Higashioka and Luis Campusano have been alternating starts at catcher over the last six games, with each receiving three starts. Higashioka has a career-high 13 homers this season and an .800 OPS across 164 plate appearances.

  • Nick Fortes C | TB

Marlins' Nick Fortes: Available off bench Tuesday

Fortes is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Reds due to quadriceps tightness but will be available off the bench, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports.

Fortes departed Monday's contest due to the injury and was limited to running at 75 percent Tuesday. It remains to be seen if a stint on the injured list will be necessary. Ali Sanchez is working behind the plate and batting ninth.

  • Sean Murphy C | ATL

Braves' Sean Murphy: Taking seat Tuesday

Murphy is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Brewers.

Murphy has continued to split time behind the plate with Travis d'Arnaud, and he'll yield to d'Arnaud for Tuesday's series opener. Murphy is 5-for-16 with a solo homer in his last five games.

  • Diamondbacks' Gabriel Moreno: Bound for IL with groin strain

The Diamondbacks placed Moreno on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a left adductor strain, Jesse Friedman of GoPHNX.com reports.

Moreno suffered the injury in Monday's win over the Guardians while legging out an infield single. The severity of the strain isn't known yet, so it's not clear how long he might be sidelined. Adrian Del Castillo has been summoned to handle the catching duties alongside Jose Herrera.

  • Curt Casali C | ATL

Giants' Curt Casali: Goes on paternity list

The Giants placed Casali on the paternity list Tuesday, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Casali will likely miss this week's three-game series against the Nationals before rejoining the club when it returns home this weekend. Jakson Reetz was called up from Triple-A Sacramento to serve as the second catcher behind starter Patrick Bailey while Casali is away.

  • Eric Yang C | CIN

Reds' Eric Yang: Outrighted to Triple-A

The Reds outrighted Yang to Triple-A Louisville on Monday.

Yang had already been sent back to the minors last week after a brief stint with the Reds and has now been removed from the 40-man roster. He will remain in the organization as catching depth at Louisville.

  • Diamondbacks' Gabriel Moreno: Suffers groin strain

Moreno was diagnosed with a left groin strain after exiting Monday's game against Cleveland.

Moreno will likely require a trip to the 10-day injured list following this diagnosis, though it's still too early to determine exactly how much time he'll miss. Jose Herrera is the only other catcher on the 40-man roster, so it looks like the D-Backs will promote either Adrian Del Castillo or Ronaldo Hernandez from Triple-A Reno to serve as the backup catcher until Moreno returns to full strength.

  • Diamondbacks' Gabriel Moreno: Limps off field

Moreno was removed from Monday's game against the Guardians after suffering a leg injury, Buster Olney of ESPN reports.

Moreno went down in the top of the second inning after beating out an infield single and was immediately removed from the matchup. He's likely headed for further evaluation to determine the extent of the injury. Jose Herrera would be next in line for chances at catcher if Moreno is forced to miss additional time.

  • Phillies' J.T. Realmuto: Sitting Monday

Realmuto is not in the starting lineup Monday versus the Dodgers.

Realmuto will take a seat after going 2-for-12 with an RBI, a walk and three strikeouts while starting all three games of the team's series against Seattle over the weekend. Garrett Stubbs will take over behind the plate and bat ninth against Los Angeles.
