Brett Sullivan C | COL
Padres' Brett Sullivan: Optioned to El Paso
San Diego optioned Sullivan to Triple-A El Paso on Wednesday.
Sullivan did not appear in a game during his latest brief stint with the Padres and has batted just .170/.184/.298 across 49 major-league plate appearances this year. Luis Campusano and Gary Sanchez remain locked in as the catching tandem in San Diego.

Elias Diaz C | KC
Rockies' Elias Diaz: Resting Wednesday
Diaz is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres.
Diaz will head to the bench for the matinee game after he drew starts behind the plate Monday and Tuesday. He smacked three doubles in Tuesday's 8-5 loss, but the 32-year-old catcher has hit just one home run over his last 27 games.

Luis Campusano C | SD
Padres' Luis Campusano: Heads to bench Wednesday
Campusano is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockies.
Campusano had started seven of the last eight games while frequently being included in the lineup alongside Gary Sanchez, with one serving as the designated hitter while the other handled catching duties. However, with the Padres bringing in Garrett Cooper and Ji-Man Choi at the trade deadline, opportunities for both Campusano and Sanchez to occupy the DH spot will likely become more scarce moving forward. The two will now have to fight for playing time behind the dish, with Sanchez getting the nod Wednesday.

Keibert Ruiz C | WAS
Nationals' Keibert Ruiz: Idle Wednesday
Ruiz is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
Ruiz will get some maintenance as the Nationals close out their series with Milwaukee with a day game after a night game. Riley Adams will draw the start at catcher while Ruiz rests following three consecutive starts.

Endy Rodriguez C | PIT
Pirates' Endy Rodriguez: Gets rest day
Rodriguez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Tigers, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Rodriguez is getting a breather for the matinee after he caught all nine innings of Tuesday's 4-1 win while going 1-for-3 with a triple, an RBI and a run. Jason Delay will get a turn behind the dish while Rodriguez rests up.

Sean Murphy C | ATL
Braves' Sean Murphy: Sitting Wednesday
Murphy is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.
Murphy and Travis d'Arnaud have now alternated turns behind the dish over the last six games, with both backstops making three starts apiece. Atlanta manager Brian Snitker has opted for the timeshare arrangement, with Murphy getting off to a slow start to the second half, as the 28-year-old is mired in a 4-for-41 slump at the dish since the All-Star break. Once Murphy breaks out of his funk, he'll likely take back the lion's share of the starts at catcher.

Tyler Stephenson C | CIN
Reds' Tyler Stephenson: Swats homer in loss
Stephenson went 2-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 20-9 loss to the Cubs.
Stephenson belted his eighth home run of the season in the sixth inning. The homer was his first in 20 games, while the RBI was his first in 16 games. Stephenson is slashing .251/.332/.368, well off his pace from last season when he had an unsustainable .409 BABIP.

Francisco Alvarez C | NYM
Mets' Francisco Alvarez: Pummels another homer
Alvarez went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 7-6 loss to Kansas City.
Alvarez came through in crunch time for New York, launching a go-ahead two-run homer in the top of the 10th. However, his efforts were for naught, as the Royals answered with three runs of their own in the bottom of the frame to claim the victory. The long ball was Alvarez's 21st of the season and his second in as many games. Though the catcher is just 5-for-27 (.185) in his last nine games, he's been productive with six runs scored and four RBI.
