Gomes went 3-for-4 with a double, a run scored and two RBI in Tuesday's 11-8 win over the Giants.

After Miguel Amaya picked up a start Sunday, Gomes has returned to go 5-for-7 across the first two games of an important series with San Francisco. The veteran catcher isn't an elite offensive option, but he's been solid with a .275 average and .741 OPS across 97 games. Gomes should continue to start most days down the stretch with Amaya available to spell him.

Barnes said he felt fine after exiting Tuesday's game against Miami upon getting hit by Nick Fortes' backswing, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Barnes said he has a bruise on his left temple and will be re-evaluated ahead of Wednesday's game. The 33-year-old has been serving as the backup to Will Smith all season, and he will likely return to the Dodgers' lineup in a couple days if everything checks out after further testing.

Barnes was removed from Tuesday's game against Miami with an apparent injury, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Barnes was struck in the head by Nick Fortes' backswing during the seventh inning, and he was later replaced behind the dish by Will Smith. The Dodgers will take a look at Barnes and presumably evaluate him for a concussion, but he should be considered day-to-day until more information is available.

Sanchez is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Phillies.

Luis Campusano (groin) will return at catcher and bat sixth. Sanchez went 1-for-4 with an RBI double and a walk in the Padres' loss to Philadelphia on Monday.

Realmuto is not in the lineup Tuesday at San Diego.

Garrett Stubbs will catch and bat ninth for the visiting Phillies after Realmuto logged four straight starts behind the plate. Realmuto went 5-for-14 (.357) with two homers in that four-game stretch while lifting his season OPS to .781.

Campusano (groin) is back in the lineup Tuesday versus the Phillies.

Campusano took a foul tip to a sensitive area in Sunday's series finale against the Giants, but he appeared as a pinch hitter in Monday's series opener versus Philly and will start behind the plate and bat sixth for the host Padres on Tuesday night at Petco Park.

Bailey is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Cubs.

Bailey will grab a breather after making four straight starts behind the plate for the Giants. Blake Sabol is catching and batting fifth Tuesday versus the Cubs and right-hander Kyle Hendricks.

Stallings is absent from the lineup Tuesday against the Dodgers.

Nick Fortes will catch and bat ninth after Stallings drew three straight starts behind the plate to close out the Marlins' four-game weekend series versus the Nationals.

Stephenson is not in the lineup Tuesday versus Seattle.

Stephenson went 5-for-7 with a homer, two doubles and four RBI between Sunday's series finale against the Cubs and Monday's series opener against the Mariners, but he'll grab some rest Tuesday as Luke Maile takes a turn behind the plate for Cincinnati.

Gomes went 2-for-3 with a double and a RBI in Monday's 5-0 win over the Giants.

Gomes returned to the lineup after getting a breather Sunday, and the veteran didn't skip a beat. He's been solid this year with a .269 batting average and .729 OPS, which are up significantly from the .235 average and .625 OPS he posted last season. Miguel Amaya should continue to spell Gomes some down the stretch, but with the Cubs fighting for a playoff spot, they'll probably use Gomes as much as possible given his production to this point.
