  • Austin Nola C | COL

Padres' Austin Nola: Not in lineup

Nola will sit Saturday against the Dodgers, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

Nola hits the bench for the second time in three games. Luis Campusano will start behind the plate.

  • Omar Narvaez C | HOU

    Brewers' Omar Narvaez: Sitting Saturday

Narvaez isn't starting Saturday against the Diamondbacks.

Narvaez has alternated starts behind the dish recently and will head to the bench since Victor Caratini is starting at catcher and batting eighth Saturday. Over his last four games, Narvaez has gone 2-for-12 with two runs, an RBI, three walks and a strikeout.

  • Cubs' Willson Contreras: Remains on bench

Contreras (ankle) isn't starting Saturday against the Cardinals.

Contreras was removed from Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays due to left ankle soreness and will be out of the lineup for a third consecutive matchup. Whether he's available off the bench remains to be seen, but Yan Gomes will start at catcher and bat seventh.

  • Marlins' Jacob Stallings: Not starting Saturday

Stallings isn't in the lineup Saturday against Atlanta, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Stallings is resting after he went 1-for-7 with a walk and three strikeouts over the last two games. Nick Fortes will take over behind the plate and bat second Saturday.

  • Joey Bart C | PIT

Giants' Joey Bart: Passes concussion tests

Bart passed his concussion tests Saturday, Evan Webeck of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Previous reports indicated that Bart expected to return from the 7-day injured list when first eligible Tuesday, and that now appears to be nearly a lock. He'll get the chance to reclaim his starting role down the stretch and will look to build on his .227/.311/.399 slash line, a performance that's good for a slightly above-average 103 wRC+ despite his 36.8 percent strikeout rate.

  • Elias Diaz C | KC

Rockies' Elias Diaz: Not starting Saturday

Diaz isn't in the lineup Saturday against the Reds.

Diaz started the last two games and went 1-for-6 with a run and two strikeouts. Brian Serven will take over behind the dish and bat ninth Saturday.

  • Austin Wynns C | ATH

Giants' Austin Wynns: Remains out of lineup

Wynns isn't starting Saturday against the Phillies.

Wynns will be out of the lineup for a second consecutive game after he went 3-for-14 with two doubles, a run, an RBI and four strikeouts over his last four matchups. Andrew Knapp is taking over behind the plate and batting ninth.

  • Braves' Travis d'Arnaud: Heads to bench

D'Arnaud will sit Saturday against the Marlins.

D'Arnaud homered twice in Friday's series opener, giving him 16 for the year, but his reward is a trip to the bench. A day off was likely coming regardless of how he performed Friday, as he's started six of the last seven games behind the plate. William Contreras will take over Saturday, catching for Bryce Elder.

  • Braves' Travis d'Arnaud: Goes yard twice Friday

D'Arnaud went 2-for-3 with two home runs, three RBI and a third run scored in Friday's 8-1 win over the Marlins.

Atlanta slugged five home runs in total on the night, and the veteran backstop led the way with a two-run blast off Sandy Alcantara in the fourth inning and a solo shot off Cole Sulser in the seventh. Since returning from a leg injury in mid-August, d'Arnaud is slashing .313/.377/.708 over 14 games with five homers and 13 RBI.

  • Yan Gomes C | CHC

Cubs' Yan Gomes: Nabs rare steal

Gomes went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Friday's 8-0 loss to the Cardinals.

Gomes isn't known for speed -- this was just the sixth steal of his major-league career, which spans 11 seasons. It was his first theft since 2020. Even if he wanted to run more, he hasn't afforded himself many opportunities. His .247 on-base percentage is his lowest since 2016, and he's batting just .219 with six home runs, 20 RBI and 19 runs scored through 227 plate appearances. Gomes should continue to fill in as the Cubs' top catcher while Willson Contreras deals with a lingering ankle injury.
