Cardinals' Willson Contreras: Getting Sunday off
Contreras is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs.
Contreras will get a breather after he played in both ends of Saturday's doubleheader, starting at designated hitter in the first game and at catcher in the second game while going a combined 3-for-6 with a home run, three walks, three runs and two RBI. Miguel Amaya C | CHC
Cubs' Miguel Amaya: Getting afternoon off
Amaya is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.
Amaya has moved back into a timeshare with Tomas Nido behind the plate, but it'll be the latter's turn to play Sunday after the former started at catcher in the second game of a doubleheader Saturday. In the Cubs' 5-4 loss in the second game of the twin bill, Amaya went 1-for-2 with a home run, two walks and two RBI.

Elias Diaz C | SD
Rockies' Elias Diaz: Resting Sunday
Diaz is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets.
Diaz will get a breather in the Rockies' final game before the All-Star break, affording Jacob Stallings a turn behind the dish. Upon returning from the injured list June 30, Diaz had started in 12 of the Rockies' ensuing 14 games, going just 11-for-50 (.220 average) with two extra-base hits (both doubles), two RBI and one run over that stretch.

Ali Sanchez C | MIA
Marlins' Ali Sanchez: Back on bench Sunday
Sanchez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds.
Sanchez will hit the bench for the second game in a row after he was behind the dish for Friday's 7-4 loss in the series opener, finishing with two hits and an RBI across four at-bats. He's slashing .250/.323/.250 in 32 plate appearances over 10 games since being called up from Triple-A Jacksonville on June 21 and has been operating as the No. 2 option at catcher behind Nick Fortes.

Miguel Amaya C | CHC
Cubs' Miguel Amaya: Slugs third homer
Amaya went 1-for-2 with two walks and a two-run home run in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Cardinals.
After sitting out the matinee, Amaya took Kyle Gibson deep in the second inning of the nightcap for his third homer of the year, helping the Cubs to an early 4-2 lead that slipped away late. The 25-year-old backstop has been alternating starts with Tomas Nido over the last week, and the arrangement seems to be agreeing with Amaya -- he's gone 5-for-12 with a double, a home run and three RBI in his last four games.

Jose Herrera C | ARI
Diamondbacks' Jose Herrera: Racks up three hits in win
Herrera went 3-for-4 with a walk, one RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 12-1 win over the Blue Jays.
This was Herrera's first multi-hit effort of the season. The backup catcher is now batting .368 with no home runs, four RBI, four runs scored and one double over 23 plate appearances. While he's done well in limited action, Herrera is unlikely to see more than a couple of starts per week behind primary catcher Gabriel Moreno.

Gabriel Moreno C | ARI
Diamondbacks' Gabriel Moreno: Idle Saturday
Moreno is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Blue Jays.
Moreno missed Wednesday's game with lower-back tightness before going 1-for-3 Thursday and 0-for-4 in Friday's contest. He'll get a night off Saturday as Jose Herrera catches and bats ninth.

Tomas Nido C | CHC
Cubs' Tomas Nido: Sitting again
Nido is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Cardinals.
Nido is absent from the starting lineup for the fourth time in six games, as the Cubs turn to Miguel Amaya behind the dish Saturday. Nido logged a hit in just one of his first 16 at-bats with the Cubs, but he has since gone 4-for-18 with a pair of RBI and three runs.

Francisco Alvarez C | NYM
Mets' Francisco Alvarez: Not starting Saturday
Alvarez is out of the starting lineup Saturday versus the Rockies.
Alvarez will be out of the lineup for the second time in three days -- he also rested Thursday versus Washington -- with Luis Torrens getting the start behind the plate Saturday. The day off isn't due to performance, as Alvarez has been hitting well of late, going 6-for-17 with a pair of doubles and three walks during his current five-game hitting streak.
