  • Mets' Travis d'Arnaud: Out of lineup Sunday

D'Arnaud is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Braves, Marc Carig of Newsday reports.

D'Arnaud exited Thursday's game with a knee injury and sat out Friday before returning to the lineup Saturday. After going 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored, he'll head back to the bench in favor of Kevin Plawecki behind the plate.

  • Cubs' Willson Contreras: Serving one-game suspension Sunday

Contreras' suspension has been reduced to one game, Carrie Muskat of MLB.com reports. He will serve his suspension Sunday.

Contreras initially received a two-game suspension from MLB following his ejection from Friday's game against the Cardinals. The backstop appealed the ruling and will now only be forced to sit out one game. He'll serve his suspension Sunday with Alex Avila filling in behind the plate in his absence.

  • Cubs' Willson Contreras: Receives breather Sunday

Contreras is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

Contreras was recently handed a two-game suspension but is appealing, so he's eligible to play. Still, he's absent from the card after going 1-for-2 with two walks and a pair of runs scored during Saturday's win. Alex Avila will take over behind the plate and bat cleanup in his absence.

  • Mets' Travis d'Arnaud: Returns to lineup

D'Arnaud (knee) will return to the lineup Saturday against the Braves, Matt Ehalt of The Record reports.

The oft-injured backstop twisted his knee Thursday, but fortunately he avoided anything major this time around. This will be d'Arnaud's 101st game of the season, putting him on pace to set a new career high in appearances -- he played in 108 games back in 2014.

  • Cubs' Willson Contreras: Earns two-game suspension

Contreras has been suspended two games after he bounced his face mask Friday and it hit home plate umpire Jordan Baker on the leg, but he is appealing, Paul Sullivan of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Until a ruling on the appeal is handed down, Contreras will remain eligible to play. He's in the lineup Saturday, catching and batting cleanup against right-hander Michael Wacha. Contreras has homered twice in four career at-bats against Wacha.

  • Dodgers' Yasmani Grandal: Out of Saturday's lineup

Grandal is out of Saturday's lineup against the Nationals, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

Grandal, who is hitting .029/.171/.118 in 34 at-bats this month, continues to lose out on playing time amid this brutal slump. Austin Barnes will start behind the dish and hit seventh, and it would seem like there will be a pretty even timeshare at catcher going forward.

  • Mets' Travis d'Arnaud: Out Friday

D'Arnaud (knee) is not in the lineup against the Braves.

D'Arnaud will get the night off after exiting Thursday's contest with a twisted right knee. The catcher remains day-to-day for the time being, while Kevin Plawecki handles the duties behind the plate for Friday's series opener.

  • Cubs' Willson Contreras: Suspension likely coming following ejection

Contreras was ejected in the top of the fifth inning Friday against the Cardinals and likely faces a suspension after he bounced his face mask and it hit home plate umpire Jordan Baker on the leg.

Contreras and starter John Lackey were ejected after they caused a scene following a missed strike three call that eventually led to an RBI single from Carlos Martinez. Baker obviously missed the call, but the reaction from Contreras, specifically his equipment bouncing and hitting the umpire, will likely lead to a short suspension. He was 1-for-2 with a strikeout before getting tossed. Contreras could appeal any suspension, so it is unclear when his owners may be without him.

  • Mets' Travis d'Arnaud: Exits with knee injury

D'Arnaud left Thursday's game against the Cubs with a twisted right knee, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

D'Arnaud was able to remain in the game until the fifth frame after being injured in the second inning, but he was not able to complete Thursday's contest. It remains to be seen if the setback will cost d'Arnaud any further action moving forward.

  • Cubs' Willson Contreras: Takes seat Thursday

Contreras is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Mets.

Contreras will get the day off after starting the first two games of the series as the Cubs ease him back from a hamstring injury. He's 2-for-5 with four walks since returning from the disabled list. Taylor Davis will draw a start behind the dish in his stead.
