  • Danny Jansen C | TEX

Blue Jays' Danny Jansen: Collects three hits Tuesday

Jansen went 3-for-6 with two doubles, two RBI and a run in Tuesday's 18-11 win over the Phillies.

Jansen has quietly heated up at the plate over the past week to make an already formidable Toronto lineup even more imposing at the back end of the batting order. Over his last five starts, Jansen has gone 8-for-18 with six extra-base hits (one home run, five doubles) to go with three walks.

  • Connor Wong C | BOS

Red Sox's Connor Wong: Heads to bench Wednesday

Wong is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.

Wong should have a clearer path to the Red Sox's No. 1 catcher role after the team recently dropped Kevin Plawecki from the 40-man roster, but Wong will give way to Reese McGuire behind the plate for the series finale in Cincinnati. Since receiving a call-up from Triple-A Worcester on Sept. 1, Wong has hit .217 with a home run, five runs and four RBI in 12 games.

  • Marlins' Jacob Stallings: On bench Wednesday

Stallings isn't starting Wednesday against the Cubs, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Stallings went 0-for-4 during Tuesday's loss to the Cubs and will retreat to the bench for the second time in the last three games. Nick Fortes is starting behind the plate and batting seventh.

  • Sandy Leon C | ATL

Twins' Sandy Leon: Back in action Thursday

Leon (knee) will start at catcher and bat ninth in Wednesday's game against the Royals.

Leon was lifted early Monday in the Twins' series finale with the Guardians due to knee inflammation, but a day out of the lineup was apparently all he needed for the issue to resolve itself. The defensive-minded backstop owns a .170 batting average since the beginning of August and won't warrant much attention from a fantasy standpoint.

  • Omar Narvaez C | HOU

Brewers' Omar Narvaez: Riding pine Wednesday

Narvaez isn't starting Wednesday against the Mets.

Narvaez will retreat to the bench for the third time in the last five games after he went just 1-for-8 with an RBI and a strikeout over his last two matchups. Victor Caratini is starting behind the dish and batting seventh.

  • Dodgers' Austin Barnes: Three hits in Tuesday's matinee

Barnes went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run in a 6-5 win over the Diamondbacks during the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader.

The veteran backstop is better known for his defense than his offense, but Barnes kick-started a game-winning rally in the eighth inning with his seventh homer of the season. It's his fourth multi-hit performance in seven September games, a stretch during which he's batting a surprising .417 (10-for-24) with two doubles, two home runs, three RBI and seven runs scored.

  • Riley Adams C | WAS

Nationals' Riley Adams: On bench Wednesday

Adams isn't starting Wednesday against Atlanta.

Adams started the last two games and went 1-for-7 with three strikeouts. Tres Barrera will take over behind the dish and bat ninth.

  • Braves' Travis d'Arnaud: Out of Wednesday's lineup

D'Arnaud is not in Wednesday's lineup against the Nationals.

D'Arnaud is hitting .343 with two home runs, seven runs and four RBI over his last 10 games. William Contreras will start behind the dish, hitting fifth.

  • Jason Delay C | BOS

Pirates' Jason Delay: Drives in pair

Delay went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk, two RBI and a run scored Tuesday against the Yankees.

Delay delivered a two-RBI double in the sixth inning to give the Pirates a 3-2 lead. Two frames later, he came around to score after reaching base on a free pass. Delay has served as the Pirates' primary catcher since Aug. 4, though he's hit just .188 with three RBI and 10 runs scored across 85 at-bats since.

  • Braves' Travis d'Arnaud: Two-run homer in win

D'Arnaud went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Nationals.

D'Arnaud took Erasmo Ramirez deep in the bottom of the fourth frame, driving in teammate Matt Olson in the process. The long ball was the catcher's 18th of the season and fourth in September. Since the beginning of the month, d'Arnaud has batted .333 with four homers, seven RBI and 10 runs scored over 12 games.
