  • Omar Narvaez C | HOU

Brewers' Omar Narvaez: Beginning rehab assignment Tuesday

Narvaez (quadriceps) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Nashville on Monday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Narvaez has been dealing with a quadriceps strain since early August but has been cleared to return to game action with the minor-league club. He's been on the injured list for just under two weeks, and it's possible that he'll be able to rejoin the Brewers as early as this weekend.

  • Dodgers' Austin Barnes: Back with team

Barnes (personal) was activated from the bereavement list Monday.

Barnes was away from the team for a few days while tending to a personal matter, but he rejoined his teammates in Milwaukee and will resume his role as the backup catcher behind Will Smith.

  • Braves' Travis d'Arnaud: Ready to go Monday

D'Arnaud (lower leg) is starting at catcher and batting seventh against the Mets on Monday.

The catcher will be back in the lineup for the first time since Aug. 6 after a lower leg injury. Since the All-Star break, d'Arnaud has produced a .226 average with two doubles, two RBI and four runs over 31 at-bats in nine games.

  • Blue Jays' Alejandro Kirk: Day off Monday

Kirk is not in the starting lineup Monday versus the Orioles.

Kirk will get a day off after he went 1-for-10 with two strikeouts in the three-game series versus the Guardians. George Springer (shoulder) will take over at designated hitter in his return to the lineup and bat leadoff in the series opener.

  • Curt Casali C | ATL

Mariners' Curt Casali: Makes team debut Sunday

Casali made his Mariners debut in Sunday's loss to the Rangers, drawing a walk in his three plate appearances.

The veteran backstop made his first on-field appearance in a Mariners uniform since being acquired from the Giants at the trade deadline and getting activated from the injured list Thursday due to an oblique issue. Casali is capable of generating some serviceable offense and is a solid veteran presence to complement young Cal Raleigh behind the dish.

  • Nick Fortes C | TB

Marlins' Nick Fortes: Another steal Sunday

Fortes went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Sunday's loss to Atlanta.

The steal was his first since July 25 and his fifth of the season in only 123 plate appearances -- a surprising performance on the basepaths considering Fortes has only seven career stolen bases in the minors. The 25-year-old backstop is pushing for more playing time, batting .318 (7-for-22) since the All-Star break with a double, a homer, five runs and six RBI.

  • Angels' Logan O'Hoppe: Flashing power since trade

O'Hoppe is slashing .227/.393/.773 with four home runs and seven RBI in six games with Double-A Rocket City since he was traded from Philadelphia to the Angels.

Though he's struck out in 25 percent of his plate appearances since shifting organizations, O'Hoppe has also walked at a hearty 18.5 percent clip in addition to experiencing the surge in power. The 22-year-old has previously shown streakiness when it comes to the long ball -- he had separate stretches earlier in the season when he homered in five consecutive games and three straight contests along with a 16-game span during which he didn't go deep at all. Collectively, he's hit 19 homers and notched 52 RBI over 344 plate appearances and could jump up to Triple-A soon if he continues to crush the ball.

  • Blue Jays' Gabriel Moreno: Back in action Sunday

Moreno (thumb) returned to the lineup for Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday, Mitch Bannon of SI.com reports.

Moreno has been held out due to the thumb injury for over a week, but he rejoined the Bisons' lineup Sunday. The 22-year-old has a .299/.369/.391 slash line with two home runs, 29 RBI and six stolen bases in 206 plate appearances at Triple-A this year.

  • Jose Trevino C | CIN

Yankees' Jose Trevino: Out of Sunday's lineup

Trevino is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox.

Trevino started the first two games of the series and will take a seat for the finale after going 3-for-8 with a strikeout. Kyle Higashioka will step in behind the plate and bat eighth Sunday.

  • Max Stassi C | SF

Angels' Max Stassi: Steps out of lineup

Stassi is not in the lineup for Sunday's game versus the Twins, Sarah Valenzuela of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Stassi has a .589 OPS through 11 games in August and will take a seat Sunday after starting the past seven contests. Kurt Suzuki will work behind the plate and bat seventh in the series finale against Minnesota.
