Stephenson suffered a broken right clavicle Friday against St. Louis.

Stephenson was hit in the shoulder by a foul ball and he was unable to complete a throw to first base a few pitches later. No timetable has been announced for his return, though he'll likely miss a large portion of the rest of the campaign.

Wong was optioned to Triple-A Worcester on Friday.

With Kevin Plawecki back from the COVID-19 injured list, Boston no longer needed Wong as insurance behind the plate. He has accrued only nine plate appearances in Boston this season, collecting two hits. Yolmer Sanchez was recalled to take Wong's spot on the roster.

Perez was designated for assignment Friday, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

Perez was optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis on July 15 and will lose his spot on the 40-man roster to make way for the activation of Greg Allen (hamstring). Jason Delay and Tyler Heineman will remain the top options behind the dish in Pittsburgh.

Grandal (back) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list and is in the starting lineup Friday versus the Guardians, Vinnie Duber of AllCHGO.com reports.

After missing over a month with lower-back spasms, Grandal is starting behind the plate and batting fifth against Cleveland. The 33-year-old has produced a career-worst .185 batting average overt 173 at-bats this season, but he went 9-for-25 (.360) with two long balls, five RBI, five runs and 13 walks over a nine-game rehab assignment with Double-A Birmingham and Triple-A Charlotte.

Nido (forearm) is starting Friday against the Padres.

Nido missed Sunday's game against the Cubs due to a left forearm injury but will be back in action for the Mets' first matchup after the All-Star break. He's starting behind the plate and batting ninth.

Stallings will sit Friday versus the Pirates.

Stallings will be out of the lineup for the second game in a row. Nick Fortes will start at catcher and bat ninth in the series opener.

Gomes will sit Friday versus the Phillies.

Gomes will be on the bench for the second consecutive game as Willson Contreras draws the start at catcher. Frank Schwindel will take over at designated hitter while Alfonso Rivas enters the lineup at first base and bats eighth against Philadelphia.

Knizner isn't starting Friday against the Reds, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Knizner drew starts in five of the last six games and went 7-for-15 with a double, five RBI and a run. Austin Romine is starting behind the plate and batting ninth.
