  • Will Smith C | LAD

Dodgers' Will Smith: Receives breather Sunday

Smith is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Giants, Kirsten Watson of SportsNet LA reports.

Smith started the first three games out of the All-Star break and will take a seat for the series finale Sunday afternoon. Austin Barnes will work behind the plate and form a familiar battery with lefty Clayton Kershaw.

  • Rays' Francisco Mejia: Sitting Sunday

Mejia will sit Sunday against the Royals, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

Mejia will get a day off after he went 4-for-8 with a double, two RBI and three runs over the first two games of the series. Christian Bethancourt will start behind the plate and bat fifth in the series finale.

  • White Sox's Yasmani Grandal: Breather Sunday

Grandal is not in the starting lineup Sunday against the Guardians.

Grandal will get a day off after he went 4-for-7 with an RBI and walk while starting both games of Saturday's doubleheader. Seby Zavala will start at catcher and bat seventh in the series finale.

  • Braves' Travis d'Arnaud: Receives Sunday off

D'Arnaud is out of the lineup for Sunday's game versus the Angels.

The 33-year-old started the first two games of the second half and will receive a breather for Sunday's series finale. William Contreras will take over behind the plate for d'Arnaud and bat sixth.

  • Blue Jays' Alejandro Kirk: Breather Sunday

Kirk is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Red Sox.

Kirk will get a breather after he went 4-for-9 with an RBI and two runs scored in the first two contests of the series. Lourdes Gurriel will slide into the designated hitter spot while Raimel Tapia enters the lineup in left field and bats eighth versus Boston.

  • Yan Gomes C | CHC

    Cubs' Yan Gomes: Starting Sunday

Gomes is starting at catcher and batting seventh in Sunday's game against the Phillies.

Gomes sat out the last three games but will enter the lineup with Willson Contreras getting a breather in the series finale. Gomes might get a little more fantasy value if Contreras is traded, though the former's .542 OPS doesn't inspire a ton of confidence even if he's seeing more playing time.

  • Phillies' J.T. Realmuto: Breather Sunday

Realmuto is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Cubs.

Realmuto will get a day off after he went 2-for-6 with an RBI and two walks in the first two games of the series. Garrett Stubbs will start behind the plate and bat ninth versus Chicago.

  • Cubs' Willson Contreras: Breather Sunday

Contreras is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Phillies.

Contreras will get a breather after he went 3-for-7 with a homer, two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored in the first two contests of the series. Yan Gomes will draw the start at catcher and bat seventh in the series finale.

  • White Sox's Yasmani Grandal: Three hits in Game 1 loss

Grandal went 3-for-4 with an RBI in the Game 1 loss to the Guardians in Saturday's doubleheader.

Grandal ripped an RBI single off Triston McKenzie in the bottom of the fourth inning, accounting for the only run the White Sox scored against him. The catcher later notched two more singles in the contest. Grandal just returned from the 10-day injured list Friday, but he'll look to turn Saturday's performance into a trend. Overall, the 33-year-old is batting .193 on the season, but he's produced a much better .324 average in 34 at-bats over the last two months.

  • Jonah Heim C | ATH

Rangers' Jonah Heim: Riding pine Saturday

Heim isn't in the lineup Saturday against Oakland.

Heim started the last two matchups and went 1-for-7 with two runs, an RBI, two walks and two strikeouts. Meibrys Viloria is starting behind the plate and batting ninth.
