The Cubs activated Amaya (oblique) from the 60-day injured list Tuesday, Maddie Lee of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Amaya has been sidelined since May 25 due to a left oblique strain. With Amaya's return, the Cubs have opted to keep three catchers on the 26-man roster, with Amaya joining Carson Kelly and Reese McGuire. Jon Berti was designated for assignment in a corresponding move. Prior to his injury, Amaya was slashing .280/.313/.505 with four home runs, 25 RBI, 14 runs scored and a 4:22 BB:K across 100 plate appearances. He had been well on his way to a career year at the dish.

Realmuto is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Reds, Lochlahn March of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

It's a routine day off for the veteran backstop, as Rafael Marchan will handle catching duties and bat ninth. Realmuto is slashing .273/.325/.393 with 22 doubles, seven home runs, 39 RBI, 41 runs scored, six stolen bases and a 26:94 BB:K across 403 plate appearances this season.

Pereda was optioned to Triple-A St. Paul on Tuesday.

Pereda got called up Friday to fill Christian Vazquez's (shoulder) spot on the 26-man roster after Vazquez was placed on the injured list. However, Pereda will return to St. Paul now that Matt Wallner is off the paternity list. Pereda didn't appear in a game during this MLB stint.

Ruiz remains in concussion protocol but is continuing to take part in baseball activities, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

While the fact that Ruiz hasn't been shut down from activity is encouraging, the Nationals haven't provided much information regarding the extent of his workouts, nor has the team provided any indication of how close he might be to exiting concussion protocol. Since Ruiz landed on the injured list July 8, the Nationals have turned to Riley Adams as their primary option at catcher.

Langeliers went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in a loss against the Rays on Monday.

Langeliers produced the A's first run of the game with a 425-foot solo shot to center field in the fifth inning. It was the continuation of a huge second half for the backstop -- since the All-Star break, Langeliers is batting a robust .404 (38-for-94) with 12 home runs, 22 RBI, 22 runs and a stolen base over 23 contests. While he's always been viewed as having big-time power, Langeliers struggled with strikeouts over his first three campaigns and didn't bat higher than .224 in any regular season. However, he's up to a .276 batting average this year due in part to a dramatic decrease in punchouts -- his 18.2 percent strikeout rate is nine points lower than his previous season-best mark of 27.2 percent.

Fermin went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Monday's 4-1 win against San Francisco.

Fermin's hit in the contest was a two-run shot to left field in the seventh inning that gave San Diego a 4-1 lead. The long ball was his first since joining the Padres via trade July 31. Fermin has brought his new team some much-needed consistent hitting from the catcher position -- since the trade, he's batting .370 (10-for-27) with four RBI over eight contests.

Perez went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and an additional run scored in Monday's 7-4 win against Washington.

The veteran backstop notched his 294th career long ball with a 404-foot, two-run blast off Nationals starter Cade Cavalli in the sixth. Perez has flashed his power since the All-Star break, hitting .267 (23-for-86) with eight homers, 14 RBI and 13 runs scored across 22 games. Through 475 total plate appearances in 114 games, the 35-year-old is slashing .248/.394/.454 with 68 RBI and 39 runs scored.

Narvaez (knee) will start at catcher and bat ninth in Monday's game against the Astros.

As expected, Narvaez will rejoin the starting nine for the first time since last Tuesday after a sore left knee kept him out of the lineup for each of the last four games. The Red Sox activated waiver pickup Ali Sanchez on Monday to provide the team with a third option at catcher, but Narvaez is expected to see the bulk of the starts behind the plate over both Sanchez and Connor Wong so long as his knee presents no issues for him moving forward.

McCann is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rangers.

After starting behind the plate in three of Arizona's previous four contests, McCann will get a breather as the Diamondbacks kick off a three-game set in Texas. Adrian Del Castilo will handle the catching duties for the Diamondbacks on Monday.

The Athletics transferred Wynns (abdomen) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Monday.

The move clears a spot on the Athletics' 40-man roster for left-hander Brady Basso (shoulder), who was reinstated from the 60-day IL and optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas. Wynns landed on the 10-day IL this past Tuesday due to an abdominal strain, and his move to the 60-day IL means the 34-year-old catcher will not be eligible to return in 2025. He appeared in 40 games between the Athletics (22) and Reds (18) this season and slashed .291/.321/.544 with six home runs and 21 RBI over 110 plate appearances. Wynns will be heading into his final year of arbitration this winter, though it's unclear if the Athletics intend to tender him a contract for 2026.
