Nola went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Rangers.

Nola extended the Mariners' lead to 2-0 with his solo shot off Rangers starter Mike Minor in the second inning. The 30-year-old Nola has his safely in five straight games, going 8-for-20 (.400) with two homers, seven RBI and six runs scored in that span. The catcher is slashing .298/.344/.524 with four homers, 16 RBI and 12 runs scored in 24 games overall this year.

Raleigh suffered a head injury during Sunday's intrasquad matchup at the team's alternate training site, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.

Raleigh was hit by the backswing of a teammate during the game and was taken to get stitches in his head. It's unclear whether he's dealing with a concussion. The 23-year-old has yet to appear in the majors, but he impressed in camp and could join the 28-man roster at some point if injuries occur to the Mariners' catchers, assuming Raleigh himself is healthy.

Trevino is not in the lineup Sunday against the Mariners.

Trevino started the last four games and had two hits in each of those contests, but he'll take a breather Sunday. Jeff Mathis will take over behind the plate for Texas in the series finale.

Ruiz was optioned to the Dodgers' alternate training site Sunday, Alanna Rizzo of Spectrum SportsNet LA reports.

The 22-year-old joined the Dodgers last week and went 2-for-8 with a homer in his first two major-league games. Ruiz was promoted with Will Smith (neck) on the injured list, but Smith was activated ahead of Sunday's game.

Hedges is not in the lineup Sunday against the Astros.

Hedges started five of six games entering Saturday, but he's now been on the bench for the past two contests. Luis Torrens receives another start behind the plate for the Friars.

Gallagher is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins.

Though he'll be getting a day off as Meibrys Viloria steps in behind the dish for the series finale, Gallagher has stepped in as the Royals' primary catcher since Salvador Perez (eye) was placed on the injured list. Gallagher started in three of the Royals' previous four contests, going 2-for-7 with two walks and a run.

Nola went 3-for-5 with an RBI single and three runs in a win over the Rangers on Saturday.

Nola contributed to the Mariners' 10-run outburst with a third-inning RBI single that plated Kyle Lewis, and he was able to cross the plate himself on each of the three occasions he reached base. The backstop has offered excellent offensive production in the ongoing absence of Tom Murphy (foot), as he's now slashing .296/.345/.494 with three home runs and 15 RBI while posting a modest 14.9 percent strikeout rate.

Jeffers will start at catcher and bat ninth Sunday against the Royals.

Since joining the Twins' active roster Thursday as a replacement for top backstop Mitch Garver (side), Jeffers has now received starts in three of the team's four games. The right-handed-hitting Jeffers, who has gone 2-for-7 with four strikeouts to begin his career, has made two of his three starts against southpaws, so he may not be guaranteed the majority of the work versus right-handed pitching. Instead, lefty-hitting veteran Alex Avila likely ranks as the Twins' top catcher versus righties while Garver is sidelined.

Smith (neck) was activated off the 10-day injured list Sunday and will start against the Rockies, Alanna Rizzo of Spectrum SportsNet LA reports.

The 25-year-old hasn't played since Aug. 12 due to the neck inflammation, but he'll return after spending the 10-day minimum on the shelf. Smith has a .188/.341/.406 slash line through 41 plate appearances and should reclaim primary catching duties, though Austin Barnes' recent success (.932 OPS in his past nine games) could lead to a more even split of playing time if Smith's struggles continue.

Perez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers.

Perez will take a seat after starting behind the dish in four of the Tribe's five games since he was reinstated from the injured list Thursday. Backup Beau Taylor will serve as the Indians' catcher in the series finale.
