Rogers will start Monday against the Twins after John Hicks was scratched due to illness, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Rogers will get another chance to dig himself out of his very poor start to his big-league career. He's hit just .114/.231/.278 through his first 24 games, but the Tigers are very much playing for the future.

Nola remains on the bench Monday against the Cubs.

Nola owns an awful .088/.179/.088 slash line over his last 10 games. Daniel Vogelbach again starts at first base.

Rogers is not starting Monday against the Twins.

Rogers continues to find himself in the lineup on a fairly frequent basis despite going 2-for-43 with 24 strikeouts over his last 13 games. John Hicks starts behind the plate Monday.

The Astros recalled Stubbs from Triple-A Round Rock ahead of Monday's game against the Brewers, Jake Kaplan of The Athletic reports.

He'll join Houston as the club's No. 3 catcher, a role that likely won't afford him many regular starts in September. Instead, Stubbs will merely function as insurance behind veterans Robinson Chirinos and Martin Maldonado, the clear top two options on the depth chart.

Barnhart is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Phillies.

Barnhart was behind the plate for the front end of Sunday's doubleheader with the Cardinals, going 0-for-4 in that contest before entering the nightcap as a pinch hitter and drawing a walk in his plate appearance. He'll just be getting some routine maintenance Monday while Curt Casali checks in at catcher.

Gomes will start at catcher and bat eighth Monday against the Mets.

He'll be rewarded with a second straight turn behind the dish after going 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 9-3 win over the Marlins. Though Gomes' production has been trending upward over the last couple of weeks, he still appears to be second on the depth chart at catcher behind Kurt Suzuki.

Knizner went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in a losing effort in Game 2 of a doubleheader against the Reds on Sunday.

Knizner was recalled from Triple-A Memphis prior to the game and flashed his power with a 368-foot blast to left field the third inning. The 24-year-old is hitting just .196 in 46 at-bats with the Cardinals this season but fared much better in the minors, slashing .276/.357/.463 with 12 long balls in 66 games .

The Athletics selected Murphy's contract from Triple-A Las Vegas on Sunday.

Oakland designated infielder Corban Joseph for assignment in order to clear room on the 40-man roster for Murphy, the organization's top catching prospect. Per Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle, manager Bob Melvin said Sunday that Murphy "will get a few starts at catcher here and there," which suggests the 24-year-old won't unseat Josh Phegley as the Athletics' primary option behind the plate.

Nido (concussion) was reinstated from the 7-day injured list ahead of Sunday's game against the Phillies.

Nido had been symptom-free for a handful of days since he suffered his concussion back on Aug. 24. He'll slot back in as the No. 2 catcher on the depth chart behind Wilson Ramos.

Barnhart is out of the lineup for Game 2 of Sunday's doubleheader against the Cardinals.

Barnhart will watch from the dugout for the second game of Sunday's doubleheader after going 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in Game 1. Curt Casali is starting in favor of him at catcher and is hitting seventh.
