Danny Jansen C | TEX
Blue Jays' Danny Jansen: Not in lineup
Jansen is not starting Saturday against San Diego.
After recording a .509 OPS in April, Jansen has hardly improved in May, posting a .530 OPS. Luke Maile and his .468 OPS will start behind the plate in his absence.

Victor Caratini C | MIN
Cubs' Victor Caratini: Starting again Saturday
Caratini is starting at catcher and batting sixth in Saturday's game against the Reds.
Willson Contreras will be out of the starting lineup for the second day in a row, so Caratini will start behind the plate once again. The 25-year-old went 0-for-2 with two walks in Friday's loss, and he's slashing .400/.545/.640 across 25 at-bats this season.

Reese McGuire C | CHW
Blue Jays' Reese McGuire: Finding stroke at Triple-A
McGuire went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a home run and two RBI for Triple-A Buffalo on Friday.
The homer was his first of the season. After a sluggish April at the plate, McGuire is slashing .275/.333/.412 with a 4:7 BB:K over 15 games in May. Danny Jansen remains the catcher of the future in Toronto, but he's hitting .179 so far in the majors. If McGuire continues to swing a solid stick, he could get the call later in the summer.

Travis d'Arnaud C | LAA
Rays' Travis d'Arnaud: Multi-hit effort in loss
D'Arnaud went 2-for-4 in a loss to the Indians on Friday.
The veteran backstop had opened his Rays tenure in a 1-for-22 funk across nine games, so even though Friday's tally only included a pair of singles, it still represented a productive night for d'Arnaud. The 30-year-old is helping hold down the fort at catcher while Mike Zunino (quadriceps) and Michael Perez (oblique) are sidelined, and with both players likely still out at least another week or two, d'Arnaud should continue logging regular playing time.

Seby Zavala C | LAD
White Sox's Seby Zavala: Set for big-league debut
Zavala was promoted from Triple-A Charlotte on Saturday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Welington Castillo (head) was placed on the injured list, so Zavala was summoned to serve as the backup catcher in the short term. He was hitting .218/.253/.506 with six home runs and a 36.3 percent strikeout rate in 21 games at Triple-A. This will be Zavala's first taste of the majors.
-
Willson Contreras 1B | BOS
Cubs' Willson Contreras: Out of Saturday's lineup
Contreras is not in Saturday's lineup against the Reds.
He is hitting .348/.430/.561 with four home runs in 66 at-bats in May. Victor Caratini is starting behind the dish, hitting sixth.

Omar Narvaez C | HOU
Mariners' Omar Narvaez: Collects hit Friday
Narvaez (knee) went 1-for-5 on Friday in a 6-2 loss to the Athletics.
Narvaez didn't end up missing a start due to a foul tip he took off his knee Wednesday. The catcher is hitting .303 with eight homers in 42 games this season, just one shy of a new personal best. He's added 20 RBI and 25 runs scored.

Omar Narvaez C | HOU
Mariners' Omar Narvaez: Back in starting nine
Narvaez (knee) is catching and batting fourth Friday night against the Athletics, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
Narvaez had to leave Wednesday's matchup against Texas after taking a foul tip off his left knee, but he'll return to the starting nine for the series opener against Oakland.

Chad Wallach C | ATH
Marlins' Chad Wallach: Lands on injured list
Wallach was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday with a concussion, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Wallach apparently sustained the concussion in Tuesday's game against the Tigers, though he never actually exited the contest. It's unclear why the Marlins opted to utilize the 10-day IL rather than the 7-day version, which is earmarked specifically for concussions. Regardless, the 27-year-old will be eligible to be activated June 1, while Bryan Holaday joins the team to fill in as Jorge Alfaro's backup behind the plate.
