Hedges is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Mariners.

Hedges remains the clear starter behind the plate in San Diego, getting the call 16 times compared to nine for Francisco Mejia. Mejia starts Wednesday but has yet to start in back-to-back contests this season, so expect Hedges back in action Friday against the Nationals.

Perez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.

Perez is just picking up some rest with the Tribe playing a day game after a night game. Kevin Plawecki will handle catching duties in the series finale.

Maldonado is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rays.

Maldonado will get a breather in the series finale one day after going yard for the first time this season. Cam Gallagher checks in behind the plate and will work in a battery with Jakob Junis.

Hedges went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in a 6-3 win over the Mariners on Tuesday.

It was the second straight game with a long ball and fourth homer of the season for the 26-year-old backstop. Hedges is hitting just .208 through 53 at-bats, but he's clearly outperforming Francisco Mejia, who is hitting .161 with no homers, so he should command the majority of the starts behind the dish, especially if he can build on this recent power surge.

Maldonado went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Tuesday against the Rays.

Maldonado took Austin Pruitt deep in the seventh inning to record his first home run of the season. He's gotten regular at-bats behind the dish in the absence of Salvador Perez, but has failed to take advantage by hitting just .172/.264/.266 through 73 plate appearances.

Narvaez is on the bench Tuesday against the Padres.

Narvaez sits for the second game in a row, something which has only happened on one other occasion this season. Tom Murphy will start behind the plate.

Jansen is not starting Tuesday against San Francisco.

Jansen is riding a five-game hitting streak, but that's only been enough to drag his season batting average up to .179. He's yet to record a multi-hit game this season. Luke Maile will start behind the plate.

Sanchez (calf) played five innings behind the plate and went hitless in three at-bats in his rehab game Monday with Low-A Charleston.

More important than his statistical output, Sanchez completed the rehab game without any setbacks with his strained left calf, according to Bryan Hoch of MLB.com. Sanchez hopped a flight to California after the game and is expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list ahead of Wednesday's game against the Angels.

Diaz collected his first RBI of the season Monday, going 1-for-4 against the Diamondbacks.

He batted seventh in the lineup but figures to move up in the order as he adjusts to major-league pitching. Diaz made several mental mistakes, including his failure to cover home plate on a bases-loaded bunt. Overall, he had a fairly rough season debut after returning from an unknown virus, but at least he's back and will provide fantasy owners with a decent option at catcher.

McCann went 3-for-5 with a home run and four RBI in Monday's 12-2 rout of the Orioles.

His three-run blast off David Hess in the fifth inning accounted for the game's first runs, but the floodgates opened from there for the White Sox. McCann's only run production coming into Monday was via one solo homer, but the catcher now boasts a robust .316/.366/.526 slash line through 10 games.
