Hedges was scratched from Saturday's lineup versus the Nationals with a sprained left ankle, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

Hedges was scratched from Saturday's game just minutes before first pitch, pressing Austin Allen in starting duty behind the plate. Hedges is considered day-to-day, but it would make sense for him to sit out Sunday's series finale with a scheduled off day to follow Monday.

Hedges won't start Saturday's game against the Nationals for an undisclosed reason, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

Hedges was penciled in to catch and bat eighth Saturday before being scratched. Austin Allen will enter the lineup in his stead.

Gomes is out of the lineup for Saturday's game at San Diego.

Gomes started the first two games versus the Padres and went 2-for-6 with one run scored and one RBI. Kurt Suzuki will take over behind the dish and bat seventh.

D'Arnaud went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer in Tampa Bay's 9-2 win over the Red Sox in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader.

D'Arnaud provided the Rays' first three runs with a home run off Josh Smith in the second inning. The 30-year-old backstop hit his first two home runs of the season Thursday and has raised his batting average to .240. If his hot streak continues, he might be able to earn a solid split of playing time with Mike Zunino.

Barnes will sit Saturday against the Giants, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Jansen is hitting .105 over his last 38 at-bats. Luke Maile is starting behind the dish and hitting ninth.

Maldonado is not in Saturday's lineup against the White Sox, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

He has 10 strikeouts and four hits over his last eight games. Cam Gallagher is starting at catcher and hitting eighth.
