    Twins' Mitch Garver: Sitting Wednesday

Garver is out of Wednesday's lineup against the Indians, Phil Miller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

He started the last two games, but will make way for Willians Astudillo in this one. Garver is hitting .230/.262/.410 with two home runs in 61 at-bats this month.

  • Danny Jansen C | TEX

Blue Jays' Danny Jansen: Out of lineup Wednesday

Jansen is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Orioles, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Jansen sits after starting seven of the Jays' last 10 games. He's hit an excellent .313/.395/.563 in 38 plate appearances since making his debut in mid-August. Russell Martin will start behind the plate Wednesday.

  • Rays' Michael Perez: Out of lineup Wednesday

Perez is not starting Wednesday against the Braves, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Perez sits for just the third time in the Rays' last 14 games. He's hit just .231 with a .526 OPS over that stretch. Jesus Sucre will start behind the plate.

  • Omar Narvaez C | HOU

White Sox's Omar Narvaez: Heads to bench Wednesday

Narvaez is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Yankees.

Narvaez will get a rest after starting seven of Chicago's last eight games, a stretch in which he went 8-for-24. Kevan Smith will get the call behind the plate.

  • Braves' Chris Stewart: Outrighted to Triple-A

The Braves outrighted Stewart to Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday.

Stewart lost his spot on the Braves' active and 40-man rosters after Kurt Suzuki overcame a short-term absence due to a triceps injury. Atlanta later brought in Rene Rivera on a waiver claim to serve as the organization's No. 3 catching option.

  • James McCann C | ARI

Tigers' James McCann: Out of lineup Wednesday

McCann is out of Wednesday's lineup against the Royals, Chris McCosky of the Detroit News reports.

McCann will receive a little breather after starting six of the past eight games behind the plate. In his place, Grayson Greiner is set to catch Michael Fulmer and hit seventh in the order.

  • Royals' Salvador Perez: Absent from Wednesday's lineup

Perez is out of the lineup versus Detroit on Wednesday, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.

Perez will take a seat for a rare day off -- his first since July 27 -- as Drew Butera draws a start behind the plate. During that span of 30 straight starts, Perez slashed .256/.302/.487 with seven home runs and 16 RBI. Expect him back in the lineup for Friday's series opener against Baltimore.

  • Astros' Martin Maldonado: Not in Wednesday's lineup

Maldonado is out of the lineup versus Oakland on Wednesday.

Maldonado will take a seat after starting five of the past six games behind the plate. In his absence, Max Stassi will catch Dallas Keuchel and bat eighth.

  • Marlins' J.T. Realmuto: Slugs 17th homer

Realmuto went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's loss to the Red Sox.

His eighth-inning blast off Matt Barnes gave the catcher 17 homers on the year, tying last year's career high. Realmuto appears to be wearing down at the end of a long season, slashing .188/.290/.325 through 22 games in August, but he's still provided some fantasy value with three homers, 11 RBI and two steals on the month.

  • Cubs' Willson Contreras: Out of lineup Tuesday

Contreras is not starting Tuesday against the Mets.

Contreras has a heavier workload than most starting catchers, regularly starting four or more games in a row without a rest. He'll sit Tuesday after starting four straight, with Victor Caratini getting the start in his place.
