Hedges is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rangers.

Hedges started the last two games after being activated from the disabled list, but he will give way to A.J. Ellis on Tuesday night.

Mesoraco is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Pirates, according to Tim Healey of Newsday.

Mesoraco started three of the last four games behind the plate, but he will not be back there Tuesday, as Kevin Plawecki gets the nod instead.

Realmuto (hand) is not in the lineup Tuesday for the second day in a row, according to Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald.

Realmuto will need at least two days to rest and recover after being struck by a foul ball Sunday. Bryan Holaday will get a second straight start behind the plate Tuesday in Realmuto's absence.

Contreras is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Dodgers.

Contreras doubled Sunday and homered Saturday to pick up just his second and third extra-base hits since May 27, but manager Joe Maddon still decided to give his top backstop a break Monday. Chris Gimenez will get the start behind the plate in Contreras' place.

Sanchez was diagnosed Monday with a Grade 1 groin strain, which is expected to sideline him for 3-to-4 weeks, Lindsey Adler of The Athletic New York reports.

Sanchez was placed on the disabled list earlier Monday, but the extent of his injury wasn't known until the results of his MRI became available. Assuming the given timetable holds, Sanchez will be out until shortly after the All-Star break. Realmuto is being held out Monday due to soreness in his wrist/hand area, according to Joe Frisaro of MLB.com.

Realmuto was struck in the hand area by a foul ball during Sunday's contest, so he was held out of Monday's lineup in order to rest and recover. The report indicates Realmuto could get a couple days off, so while he does not appear to be dealing with anything serious, he could miss further action.

Realmuto posted a robust 1.100 OPS over his last 13 games, but he will get a day off after starting nine games in a row, seven of which came behind the plate. Bryan Holaday will fill in at catcher Monday night.

Higashioka will be called up Monday with Gary Sanchez (groin) heading to the disabled list, Jon Morosi of MLB Network reports.

Higashioka will back up Austin Romine while Sanchez remains injured. The duration of Sanchez's absence should become clear after an MRI on Monday. Higashioka went hitless in nine games with the Yankees last year, his only taste of big-league action thus far in his career.

McCann is not starting Monday against Oakland.

McCann is hitting just .158 with a .316 OPS over his last 10 games. Grayson Greiner gets the start in his place Monday.
