Devin Mesoraco C | NYM
Reds' Devin Mesoraco: Next step in rehab Monday
Mesoraco (hip, shoulder) will catch a full game for the first time on his rehab assignment with Double-A Pensacola on Monday, MLB.com's Mark Sheldon reports.
The Reds have been methodical about his return, beginning with his schedule in spring training. For them, it's all about building Mesoraco's durability. "Getting to nine innings is a lot closer, for sure," Reds manager Bryan Price said. "Catching back-to-back is going to be big as well, and seeing how he comes out of that. Right now, it's just the durability. He's not coming out of any of these games feeling banged up, which is good."

Sandy Leon C | ATL
Red Sox's Sandy Leon: Collects two hits, drives in two Sunday
Leon went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a run scored during Sunday's 7-5 win over the Tigers.
Leon doubled in his first at-bat and delivered the biggest hit of the game when he singled with the bases loaded to drive in two in the eighth inning, breaking a tie game. He is now batting a robust .438 with five RBI through 16 at-bats and seems to be proving his impressive returns in a relatively small sample size last season were no fluke.

Travis d'Arnaud C | LAA
Mets' Travis d'Arnaud: Gets day off Sunday
D'Arnaud is not in Sunday's lineup against the Marlins.
D'Arnaud, who was already given the night off in Friday's matchup against the Marlins, will now be out of the lineup for two of the team's three games in the series. However, this should help ensure that he's fully fresh for the Mets' upcoming seven-game road trip beginning Monday.

Martin Maldonado C | SD
Angels' Martin Maldonado: Sitting out Sunday
Maldonado is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners.
Maldonado seems to have established himself as the Angels' primary backstop, so his absence from the lineup Sunday is likely just for rest purposes rather than as a result of poor performance. Carlos Perez will assume catching duties, working as the battery mate for starting pitcher Matt Shoemaker.

Tucker Barnhart C | TEX
Reds' Tucker Barnhart: Out of lineup Sunday
Barnhart is out of the lineup Sunday against the Cardinals, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.
It looks to be little more than a routine day off for Barnhart, who caught the first two games of the series. Stuart Turner will be behind the plate for the second time this season, working as the battery mate for starting pitcher Scott Feldman.

Gary Sanchez C | MIL
Yankees' Gary Sanchez: Officially hits DL
Sanchez (biceps) was placed on the 10-day disabled list Sunday, MLB.com reports.
The Yankees acknowledged Sanchez would require a DL stint after he suffered a right biceps strain upon fouling off a pitch in Saturday's game, and they made the transaction official Sunday. Kyle Higashioka was recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to give the team added depth behind the plate, but it's Austin Romine who is expected to handle the bulk of the duties at catcher for the duration of Sanchez's absence.

Yasmani Grandal C | PIT
Dodgers' Yasmani Grandal: Gets day off Sunday
Grandal is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
With Grandal sitting out Sunday's afternoon contest, reserve catcher Austin Barnes will draw the start behind the plate. Expect Grandal to be back in the lineup Monday against the Cubs.

Reds' Devin Mesoraco: Homers in second rehab game
Mesoraco (hip, shoulder) homered for Double-A Pensacola on Saturday in his second start on his rehab assignment.
The Reds anticipate that Mesoraco will not need the full 20 days of his rehab assignment at Pensacola. They want to see him catch on three consecutive days without setbacks before they activate him, however.

Willson Contreras 1B | BOS
Cubs' Willson Contreras: Not in Sunday's lineup
Contreras is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers.
After catching the first two games of the series, Contreras will get the day off Sunday and be replaced by Miguel Montero. The 24-year-old will likely be behind the plate Monday against the Dodgers.

Cameron Rupp C | MIN
Phillies' Cameron Rupp: Receives day off Sunday
Rupp is not in the lineup for Sunday's contest against the Nationals, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
Rupp will sit in favor of backup catcher Andrew Knapp on Sunday. Rupp is off to a 3-for-15 start after the first week of the season.
