Rupp is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Padres.

Rupp will take the day off after going 1-for-4 with a double and a run Monday. The 27-year-old is hitting .250 but has struck out seven times in 16 plate appearances so far in 2016.

Realmuto is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Mets.

Jeff Mathis will start in Realmuto's place as he gets the night off to rest. The 25-year-old is off to a hot start this season, hitting .318 with three runs and two RBI through five games.

Casali is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Indians, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Casali and Hank Conger have essentially split time behind the plate through the opening week of the season, and that trend will continue as Casali will take a seat Tuesday after starting the team's previous two games. Conger will do the catching and bat ninth in his stead.

Grandal was activated from the DL on Tuesday, Jack Baer of MLB.com reports.

Both Howie Kendrick and Grandal were activated from the DL on Tuesday, and the Dodgers optioned Micah Johnson in a corresponding move. Scott Van Slyke was also placed on the DL with a back injury. The plan is for Grandal to sit out Tuesday's game but catch Wednesday against the D-Backs.

Though he was expected to make his first start of the season Tuesday, Grandal is not in the lineup for the Dodgers' home opener. It's unclear at this point whether he'll be available off the bench as a pinch hitter or defensive replacement Tuesday, but A.J Ellis will serve as the Dodgers' backstop against the Diamondbacks.

The health of Scott Van Slyke (back) may ultimately determine the Dodgers' course of action to clear space on the roster for Grandal's return. Nevertheless, he's expected to be in the lineup Tuesday.

McCann has been placed on the 15-day DL with a right ankle sprain.

Bobby Wilson was recalled to replace McCann on the roster, while the Tigers will likely lean heavily on Jarrod Saltalamacchia in the coming weeks. The results of McCann's MRI have not been disclosed yet, but that should offer clarity regarding a timetable for his return.

McCann (ankle) had an x-ray come back clean, but has MRI results coming and is still concerned about the injury, Matthew B. Mowery of the Oakland Press reports.

The catcher was initially diagnosed with a sprained ankle, but it seems that the ailment may be more serious than initially expected. The severity of his injury should become clearer when the results of his MRI are released.

Maldonado went 0-for-3 with a walk in Sunday's victory over the Astros.

Maldonado made his first start of the season Sunday with Jonathan Lucroy getting the day off. The backup backstop will play sparingly for now, but if Lucroy gets traded as has been rumored, Maldonado would be the favorite to take over as the Brewers' regular catcher.
