Stephenson isn't in the Reds' lineup for Thursday's game against the Pirates.

Stephenson is currently enjoying a seven-game hitting streak, during which he's gone 9-for-29 with a home run and five RBI. He'll get a breather Thursday while Luke Maile catches for Nick Lodolo and bats ninth.

The Rays transferred Rortvedt from the paternity list to the family medical emergency list, Tricia Whitaker of Bally Sports Sun reports.

Per Whitaker, Rortvedt's new baby and the baby's mother are doing fine. This is a procedural move made so that he can spend more time with his family, as his three-game stay on the paternity list was set to run out. Rortvedt is expected to rejoin the Rays at some point on their road trip, potentially as soon as this weekend versus the Dodgers. Rob Brantly will remain on Tampa Bay's roster until Rortvedt returns.

Jackson is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Athletics.

Jackson will give way to Rob Brantly behind the dish as the Rays wrap up their series in Oakland. Ben Rortvedt (personal) is likely to return from the paternity list this weekend in Los Angeles, so Jackson's brief run as the Rays' No. 1 backstop should soon come to an end. Jackson owns a lowly .434 OPS over 144 plate appearances on the season, but he's shown some improvement since the All-Star break with a .200/.294/.378 slash line across 18 games.

Romo is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Nationals.

Romo started behind the plate both of the past two nights, so he'll be given a breather as the Rockies wrap up their series in Washington with a day game. Jacob Stallings will enter the lineup as the Rockies' starting catcher.

Lee went 1-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored Wednesday against the Giants.

Lee came through with the game-winning RBI single in the top of the ninth inning. He has dominated playing time behind the plate in August with 13 starts in 17 games. Lee has been plagued by a 35.2 percent strikeout rate in that span, though he's managed four RBI and six runs scored.

Bethancourt went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 8-2 loss to the Tigers.

Bethancourt's fifth-inning home run, his fourth of the season, provided all of Chicago's offense. The 32-year-old continues to serve as the backup to Miguel Amaya behind the plate, giving him limited upside in the short term. Neither catcher has been great offensively, however, as Bethancourt is sporting a .196 average and .614 OPS, compared to a .212 average and .584 OPS for Amaya.

Fermin is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.

After going 9-for-28 with three doubles and two walks while starting each of the past seven games, Fermin will get a breather in the series finale. Salvador Perez will return behind the plate Wednesday after occupying first base in Tuesday's 9-5 loss, while Hunter Renfroe gets a day out of the outfield and serves as the Royals' designated hitter.

Langeliers is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rays.

Langeliers started the previous seven games and will receive a day off after hitting .375 with three doubles and a homer during that span. Kyle McCann will step in behind the plate Wednesday for Oakland.

Amaya isn't in the Cubs' lineup for Wednesday's game versus Detroit.

Amaya will get a chance to regroup Wednesday after being held hitless in nine at-bats over his last three games. Christian Bethancourt will catch instead for right-hander Jameson Taillon and bat ninth.

Atlanta manager Brian Snitker said that d'Arnaud (wrist) is available off the bench to catch Wednesday versus the Phillies, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

D'Arnaud hasn't played since being hit in the wrist by a pitch Saturday against the Angels. He's feeling much better, although it's not clear when he might be ready to return to the lineup. Sean Murphy will make his third straight start at catcher Wednesday.
