Dingler went 3-for-5 with one RBI and one run scored in Friday's 7-6 win over the Twins.

Dingler has four multi-hit efforts over nine games this season, including two in his last three contests. The catcher has taken over the No. 1 job behind the dish while Jake Rogers (oblique) is out. Dingler is batting a toasty .387 with two home runs, eight RBI, five runs scored, a triple and a double over 32 plate appearances. The one concern early on is his 10 strikeouts, which shows he hasn't made much improvement from the 34.5 percent strikeout rate he had over 27 games in the majors last year.

Diaz went 3-for-5 with a home run, a double, five RBI and two total runs scored in Friday's 14-3 win over the Angels.

Diaz had more hits Friday than he did in his first nine games of the season combined. This big effort at the plate also included his first extra-base hits of the year as well as his first RBI since Opening Day. Diaz delivered a grand slam to cap a six-run fifth inning and added an RBI double as the Astros rallied again in the sixth. That raised his batting average to .132 (5-for-38) with six RBI and three runs scored across 10 contests. Diaz is likely to continue playing in a starting role at catcher -- he's shown potential with 39 homers and 144 RBI across 252 games over the last two seasons, so his slow start to 2025 may just be a brief slump.

Jansen went 3-for-4 with one home run and four RBI in Friday's 6-3 win over Atlanta.

Jansen gave the Rays the lead in the fourth inning when he took Bryce Elder deep for a 358-foot, two-run home run to left field. Jansen drove in additional runs in the sixth and eighth frames, and his four RBI on Friday were his most in a game since May 20, 2024 against the White Sox (five). It was a bounce-back performance for the veteran catcher, who started the season 1-for-26 with five walks and six strikeouts prior to Friday's contest.

Bart was removed from Friday's game against the Reds due to lower-back discomfort.

The Pirates are labelling Bart as day-to-day, which is a good sign that his injury isn't too serious. The 28-year-old may miss a game or two if his soreness lingers, but he doesn't appear destined for the injured list.

Kelly is not in the Cubs' starting lineup against the Dodgers on Friday.

Kelly will sit for a second straight game as Miguel Amaya gets the start behind home plate and bats ninth against Dodgers right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Kelly is 7-for-21 with two homers, eight walks, 10 RBI and five runs scored so far this season.

Torrens (forearm) will start at catcher and bat eighth Friday against the Athletics.

Torrens has been held out of the Mets' last four games due to a bruised forearm, but he now appears to be fully healed and ready to return behind the dish. The 28-year-old is off to a strong start this year, going 6-for-20 with a homer and two RBI through eight games.

Murphy is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Rays.

Murphy will get a chance to rest his legs after making three consecutive starts behind the plate following his return from the injured list. He's 3-for-11 with a home run, four RBI, two runs scored and five strikeouts against one walk so far this season. Rookie Drake Baldwin is set to return to the lineup to catch for Bryce Elder in the series opener in Tampa Bay.

Realmuto is not in the lineup for Friday's game in St. Louis.

Realmuto caught all 11 innings of Thursday's extra-innings, rain-delayed game in Atlanta, so he'll get some well-earned rest Friday. Rafael Marchan is behind the dish and batting ninth for the Phillies in Friday's series opener.

Fortes has been diagnosed with a Grade 1 left oblique strain, Stephen Strom of Marlins Radio Network reports.

It's the least severe grade of strain, but Fortes could still be out beyond the minimum 10 days. In the meantime, Liam Hicks will operate as the Marlins' primary catcher, with Rob Brantly backing him up.

The Marlins selected Brantly's contract from Triple-A Jacksonville on Friday.

Brantly will return to the majors to provide catching depth alongside Liam Hicks while Nick Fortes (oblique) is on the injured list. While Brantly has seen action in parts of nine major-league seasons, he has not reached even 100 plate appearances in a big-league campaign since 2013. He is yet to get into a regular-season game at any level this season.
