  • Athletics' Shea Langeliers: Receiving Thursday off

Langeliers is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Royals.

Kyle McCann will draw the start behind the dish while Langeliers rests for a day game after a night game. Langeliers went 0-for-7 with four strikeouts over the first two games of the series with Kansas City, bringing his batting average down to .198 for the season.

  • Rockies' Jacob Stallings: Resting Thursday

Stallings is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Dodgers, Luke Zahlmann of The Denver Gazette reports.

Stallings will get a breather while the Rockies conclude their series with the Dodgers with a day game after a night game. Hunter Goodman will fill in behind the plate for Stallings, who went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and a run scored while catching eight innings of Wednesday's 7-6 win.

  • Astros' Victor Caratini: Getting imaging on quad

Astros manager Joe Espada said Thursday that Caratini will undergo imaging on his injured left quadricep, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Caratini was removed from Wednesday's 4-1 win over the White Sox due to the injury and remained "pretty sore" Thursday, according to Espada. The skipper thinks Caratini could require a stint on the 10-day injured list, but the club will wait for the MRI results to come in before making that decision. Houston is already carrying Cesar Salazar and Cooper Hummel on the roster as additional catcher options behind Yainer Diaz and Caratini.

  • Ben Rortvedt C | NYM

Rays' Ben Rortvedt: Getting afternoon off

Rortvedt is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Twins, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The Rays had initially planned to give Rortvedt a day off Wednesday, but the team later updated its lineup and included the 26-year-old at catcher for a fourth consecutive contest. After delivering two hits in Wednesday's 3-2 extra-inning win, Rortvedt will receive a breather for Thursday's day game. Alex Jackson will step in for Rortvedt behind the plate.

  • Korey Lee C | CHW

White Sox's Korey Lee: Getting afternoon off

Lee is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Astros.

Lee will cede the catching duties to Martin Maldonado for Thursday's day game after starting behind the plate in Wednesday night's 4-1 loss while going 2-for-4 with a pair of base hits. The 25-year-old backstop has gotten off to a poor start to June, slashing .185/.241/.296 through 15 games.

  • Cal Raleigh C | SEA

    Mariners' Cal Raleigh: Resting Thursday

Raleigh is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Guardians.

Raleigh had started in each of the last five games and was behind the plate Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday, so he'll be given a maintenance day as the Mariners wrap up their series in Cleveland. Mitch Garver will pick up a start at catcher Thursday.

  • Bo Naylor C | CLE

Guardians' Bo Naylor: Getting afternoon off

Naylor is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Mariners.

Naylor had either started at catcher or designated hitter in each of the Guardians' last five contests, so he'll be getting a breather Thursday while Cleveland wraps up its series with Seattle with a day game after a night game. David Fry will step in behind the plate while Naylor rests.

  • Diamondbacks' Gabriel Moreno: Out of Arizona lineup

Moreno is out of the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Nationals.

Moreno started behind the plate each of the last four contests but will get some rest for Thursday's afternoon game. Tucker Barnhart will draw the start at catcher, forming a battery with pitcher Ryne Nelson.

  • Ali Sanchez C | BOS

Marlins' Ali Sanchez: Dealt to Miami

The Cubs traded Sanchez to the Marlins on Wednesday in exchange for cash considerations.

Sanchez has spent the entire season with Triple-A Iowa, slashing .240/.338/.388 with 21 RBI across 148 plate appearances. Given the awful seasons Nick Fortes and Christian Bethancourt have both had in the majors, it's possible Sanchez gets his first look in the big leagues since 2021 if he continues at his current pace.

  • Astros' Victor Caratini: Exits with leg injury

Caratini was removed from Wednesday's game against the White Sox due to left leg discomfort, Julia Morales of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.

Caratini made an awkward slide into home plate during the third inning, and he was replaced behind the dish once the Astros took the field in the bottom of the frame. The severity of the backstop's injury remains unknown, but it's possible he sits out a game or two in order to recover.
