Thayron Liranzo C | DET
Tigers' Thayron Liranzo: Cleared for baseball activities
Liranzo (oblique) has resumed baseball activities, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
Liranzo went down with a right oblique strain in early March but is ready to ramp things back up. The 22-year-old will be assigned to Double-A Erie once he's physically ready, but he looks to be multiple weeks away from being cleared to play in games.

Carter Jensen C | KC
Royals' Carter Jensen: Scratched from Thursday's lineup
Jensen was a late scratch from Thursday's lineup against the Twins, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.
Jensen is presumably dealing with some sort of injury, though the Royals have not revealed the reason for why he was scratched. More information should be available on Jensen's status soon. Jac Caglianone moved from right field into the designated-hitter spot in Jensen's place, and Lane Thomas entered the lineup in right field.

Christian Vazquez C | HOU
Astros' Christian Vazquez: Homers Wednesday
Vazquez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 6-4 win over the Red Sox.
Making his second start of the season, Vazquez extended Houston's lead to 6-4 with a homer off Danny Coulombe to lead off the seventh inning, his first long ball this year. Vasquez is now 2-for-7 to open the campaign after slashing .189/.271/.274 with three homers and 14 RBI across 214 plate appearances with the Twins in 2025.

Ryan Jeffers C | MIN
Twins' Ryan Jeffers: Taking seat Thursday
Jeffers is not in the lineup for Thursday's contest in Kansas City.
It's a routine day off for Jeffers, who has now started four of the first six games behind the dish. It will be Victor Caratini doing the catching in Thursday's series finale.

Liam Hicks C | MIA
Marlins' Liam Hicks: Goes yard Wednesday
Hicks went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run, two additional RBI and an additional run scored in Wednesday's win over the White Sox.
Hicks is enjoying an excellent start to the season, hitting safely in four of his first five games while already leaving the yard on three occasions. With three homers, 12 RBI and eight runs scored in 19 plate appearances through five games, Hicks should cool down sooner rather than later. However, it wouldn't be a stretch to call him one of the hottest bats in the National League over the first week of the regular season.

Eric Haase C | SF
Giants' Eric Haase: Returns to Giants
Haase signed a minor-league contract with the Giants on Wednesday.
Haase parted ways with the Giants after posting a .911 OPS over 18 games in the Cactus League, but he'll now return to the organization and provide depth at Triple-A Sacramento. He'd likely be called up to work as a backup in San Francisco if Patrick Bailey or Daniel Susac has to miss time.

Samuel Basallo C | BAL
Orioles' Samuel Basallo: Launches first homer of season
Basallo went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 8-3 win over the Rangers.
The 21-year-old slugger helped chase Nathan Eovaldi from the game when he led off the fifth inning by launching a fastball 437 feet over the wall in center field. It was Basallo's first homer and first RBI of the season in his fifth game, and he's batting .211 (4-for-19) in the early going with a 2:6 BB:K.

Drake Baldwin C | ATL
Braves' Drake Baldwin: Drives in four in Wednesday's win
Baldwin went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double, a run scored and four RBI in Wednesday's 5-1 win over the A's.
The second-year backstop continues to swing a hot bat, fueling Atlanta's offense Wednesday with a two-run single in the second inning and a two-run double in the fourth. Baldwin has started all six games in the season's first week, four at catcher and two at DH, and he's hit second in the order against both lefties and righties. During that hot streak, he's batting .318 (7-for-22) with three homers, six runs and seven RBI.

Shea Langeliers C | ATH
Athletics' Shea Langeliers: Slugs fifth homer
Langeliers went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 5-1 loss to Atlanta.

It was Langeliers' fifth homer in six games, a power surge that has fueled a stunning .375/.400/1.000 slash line with eight RBI through the first week of the season.
