  • Pirates' Endy Rodriguez: Absent from lineup

Rodriguez is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game against the Nationals.

Rodriguez started each of the previous three games behind the plate, so he'll be off for Thursday's afternoon contest. Jason Delay will do the catching for Mitch Keller.

  • Padres' Luis Campusano: Lifts sixth homer

Campusano went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run in Wednesday's 6-1 win over the Dodgers.

Campusano has been productive in September, going 11-for-32 (.344) with 10 RBI over 10 contests. The catcher has seen an increased role since Gary Sanchez suffered a season-ending wrist fracture last week. Campusano is up to six homers, 24 RBI, 22 runs scored and a .305/.343/.481 slash line through 41 games this season, and he should see a majority of the workload behind the dish for the remainder of the campaign.

  • Royals' Salvador Perez: Notches three hits Wednesday

Perez went 3-for-5 with two RBI in Wednesday's 7-1 win over the White Sox.

Perez has logged multiple hits in five of his 11 games in September, and he's now batting .319 (15-for-47) this month. While his contact is up, he's not hitting for a lot of power -- he has just two extra-base hits in September, and both were home runs Sept. 1. The catcher is at a .253/.293/.415 slash line with 21 home runs, 69 RBI, 55 runs scored and 19 doubles through 131 contests overall, numbers largely similar to his 114-game 2022 campaign.

  • Drew Millas C | WAS

Nationals' Drew Millas: Launches first homer

Millas went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 7-6 loss to the Pirates.

Millas cut the Nats' deficit to 7-2 with the first homer of his big-league career, a 405-foot blast off Quinn Priester in the fifth inning. The 25-year-old backstop has hit well in limited action since he was recalled Aug. 28, going 4-for-12 with four RBI. Millas should continue to back up Keibert Ruiz down the stretch with Riley Adams (hand) out for the rest of the season.

  • Will Smith C | LAD

Dodgers' Will Smith: Gets breather Wednesday

Smith is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Padres.

This seems to be a planned day of rest for Smith, who went 2-for-3 with a three-run homer and a double in the Dodgers' win over San Diego on Tuesday. Austin Barnes will catch and bat ninth Wednesday.

  • Korey Lee C | CHW

White Sox's Korey Lee: Receives Wednesday off

Lee is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Royals.

Lee started one half of Tuesday's doubleheader and will hit the bench for Wednesday's series finale. Yasmani Grandal will take over behind the plate and bat seventh.

  • Marlins' Jacob Stallings: Out of lineup Wednesday

Stallings is not in the lineup Wednesday versus the Brewers.

Nick Fortes will catch and bat ninth for the visiting Marlins. Stallings got the start behind the plate Tuesday and went 0-for-3 with three strikeouts as his season slash line dipped to .195/.289/.298.

  • Keibert Ruiz C | WAS

Nationals' Keibert Ruiz: Not in lineup Wednesday

Ruiz is not in the lineup Wednesday at Pittsburgh.

Drew Millas will catch and bat seventh for the visiting Nationals. Ruiz tallied a single and a run scored in Tuesday's loss to the Pirates and is sitting on an eight-game hitting streak. He also has a nine-game on-base streak.

  • Mets' Francisco Alvarez: Not in lineup Wednesday

Alvarez is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Diamondbacks.

Omar Narvaez will start at catcher and bat ninth. Alvarez recorded his 23rd home run and second stolen base of the year in the Mets' defeat of the D-backs on Tuesday.

  • Connor Wong C | BOS

Red Sox's Connor Wong: Out of Wednesday's lineup

Wong is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Yankees, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

Wong has an .888 OPS through seven games in September, though he finds himself on the bench Wednesday for the third time in Boston's past four contests. Reese McGuire will receive another look behind the plate with Tanner Houck on the mound for the Red Sox.
