Wells went 1-for-4 in Friday's 6-2 victory against the Astros.

Wells was called up from the minors earlier Friday and batted seventh in the lineup while starting behind the plate against Houston. The 24-year-old worked the count full against Justin Verlander in his first big-league plate appearance before lacing a single to right field. Per Bryan Hoch of MLB.com, Yankees manager Aaron Bone said Friday that Wells will play "a lot" at catcher down the stretch, though New York has two other catchers on the roster in Kyle Higashioka and Ben Rortvedt.

Moreno went 2-for-4 with a double in Friday's 4-2 win over Baltimore.

Moreno's hot bat continues to flourish as the season heads into September. The catcher has multiple hits in seven of the last 11 games and batted .375 (15-for-40) with six extra-base hits, 10 RBI and eight runs scored during that stretch.

D'Arnaud went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 6-3 loss to the Dodgers.

The catcher snapped a 17-game homer drought dating back to July 23 during which he hit a meager .190 with five doubles and nine RBI. For the season, d'Arnaud is up to a .246/.304/.441 slash line with 10 long balls, 34 RBI, 28 runs scored and 11 doubles through 58 contests while splitting time behind the plate with Sean Murphy.

Jansen suffered a fractured right middle finger when struck by a foul ball in the sixth inning of Friday's win at Colorado, ESPN reports.

He'll have more tests done on the finger Saturday, but it sounds like he'll be out awhile. Alejandro Kirk would become the everyday catcher for the Blue Jays in Jansen's absence.
