Yoshida went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and a two-run single in Tuesday's 6-5 win over the Royals.

Yoshida entered the week on an 0-for-13 skid, but he's torched the Royals for six hits over the first two games of this series. Three of those knocks have gone for extra bases, including his solo shot in the third inning Tuesday. The 31-year-old is up to a .279/.353/.406 slash line with six homers, 37 RBI, 30 runs scored, 11 doubles and no stolen bases over 64 contests this year while serving as the Red Sox's primary designated hitter.

Yoshida went 4-for-5 with two doubles and two runs Monday in a 9-5 win against the Royals.

None of Yoshida's hits knocked in a run, but he did score twice in the victory. The big performance snapped a four-game hitless stretch during which the DH had gone 0-for-13. This was Yoshida's second four-hit effort of the campaign.

Alvarez went 2-for-3 with a walk Sunday against the Rays.

Alvarez has had a surprising lack of power production this season, as his .227 ISO is the lowest mark of his career. While that has hurt his counting stats, he's still been an excellent source of batting average and now has eight multi-hit efforts in his last 25 starts. In that span, Alvarez has hit .322 with 14 RBI, 13 runs scored and four home runs.

Jimenez went 3-for-5 with a double and one RBI in Sunday's 9-5 win over the Guardians.

Jimenez has gone 5-for-9 with two RBI over three contests since he was traded from the White Sox to the Orioles. He started against a right-hander (Gavin Williams) in Sunday's contest, suggesting that Ryan O'Hearn could occasionally move to first base against righties, which could cost Ryan Mountcastle some playing time. Jimenez is at a .252/.306/.357 slash line with five home runs, 18 RBI, 18 runs scored, 10 doubles and three stolen bases over 68 games this year.

Garver is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies.

After going 0-for-16 over a stretch of four starts from July 13 through July 22, Garver went 3-for-3 with two walks July 26 against the White Sox, only to endure another 0-for-16 showing over a four-game stretch. Garver had started in three of the Mariners' previous four games, but his ongoing slump will likely begin to cost him more playing time.

Calhoun is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets.

The lefty-hitting Calhoun is on the bench for the second game in a row while the Mets send southpaw Jose Quintana to the hill, but Calhoun seems to have recaptured a regular role at designated hitter against right-handed pitching after Anthony Rendon (back) was placed on the injured list Tuesday. Calhoun has started in each of the Halos' last five matchups against righties, going 4-for-21 with two doubles, two walks, two runs and two RBI.

Madris went 3-for-4 with a double, a solo home run and an additional run scored in Saturday's 6-5, extra-innings win over the Royals.

Madris hit his first home run of the season in the bottom of the ninth inning to help the Tigers rally from a 3-1 deficit to force extra innings and eventually win in 11. The 28-year-old has been locked in since getting called up from Triple-A Toledo at the end of July, as he's slashing .321/.357/.712 across nine games. Madris could push Gio Urshela for more playing time at first base as a result of his hot streak, though the former's brief MLB track record before this season suggests regression is coming.

Calhoun will sit Saturday versus the Mets, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Calhoun will take a seat as the Angels face southpaw David Peterson on the mound. Matt Thaiss will take over at designated hitter and bat eighth against New York.

O'Hearn is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Guardians.

The lefty-hitting O'Hearn will avoid Cleveland southpaw Joey Cantillo for Saturday's contest. Since the All-Star break, O'Hearn is slashing .239/.393/.413 with one home run and seven RBI across 57 plate appearances. Eloy Jimenez will serve as the deisgnated hitter and bat fifth.

Stanton isn't in the Yankees' lineup Saturday against Toronto.

Stanton will get a day to rest Saturday after going 1-for-4 with a double during Friday's loss. His absence will move Aaron Judge into the DH role while Trent Grisham starts in center field.
