  • Mitch Garver C | SEA

Mariners' Mitch Garver: Smashes homer in win

Garver went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run and two walks in Friday's 3-2 win over the Rangers.

Garver is up to eight homers this season, and he's hit three of them over his last eight games. In that stretch, he's batting .250 (6-for-24) with eight RBI and two doubles. It's encouraging to see more power out of the 33-year-old -- he went 18 games without a homer between May 13 and June 5. Garver is slashing a poor .176/.300/.352 across 230 plate appearances this season, though he's added 25 RBI, 23 runs scored and 10 doubles while seeing fairly steady playing time at designated hitter.

  • Willie Calhoun DH | LAA

    Angels' Willie Calhoun: Sitting again

Calhoun is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Giants.

Calhoun will take a seat for a second straight game Friday, with Kevin Pillar playing left field and batting cleanup while Taylor Ward bats third as the DH. Calhoun is 10-for-30 (.333) in June with five walks and two strikeouts.

  • Royals' Nelson Velazquez: Getting breather Friday

Velazquez is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Dodgers.

After starting in each of the Royals last four games, Velazquez will get the day off Friday. Adam Frazier will DH and bat fifth while Drew Waters handles right field and bats eighth.

  • Ryan O'Hearn 1B | PIT

Orioles' Ryan O'Hearn: Taking seat against lefty

O'Hearn is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Phillies, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

O'Hearn will avoid a matchup against southpaw Ranger Suarez on Friday, as Adley Rutschman fills in at DH and James McCann catches. O'Hearn is just 1-for-11 against lefties in 2024 and all nine of his home runs have come against right-handed pitching.

  • Wyatt Langford OF | TEX

Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Two RBI, two steals in win

Langford went 2-for-4 with two RBI and two stolen bases in Thursday's win over the Dodgers.

Langford drove in two of the Rangers' three runs on the night with RBI singles in the first and third innings while also swiping two bags. It marked the outfielder's third game this month with two RBI and his first multi-steal effort of the campaign. Langford has now hit safely in five of his last six games, going 7-for-22 (.318) over that stretch with four RBI, three stolen bases and two runs scored.

  • Mark Canha LF | KC

Tigers' Mark Canha: Tallies two hits, steal in win

Canha went 2-for-3 with two RBI in Thursday's 7-2 win over the Nationals. He also stole a base.

Canha extended his hitting streak to three games, and he's recorded a stolen base in two of those contests. That gives the veteran four steals for the season, and while he's not known for his speed at this point in his career, Canha did swipe 11 bases in 12 chances last year. He's a smart and efficient baserunner who can contribute a little bit in that category, though fantasy managers shouldn't expect huge numbers the rest of the way.

  • Willie Calhoun DH | LAA

Angels' Willie Calhoun: Getting breather Thursday

Calhoun isn't in the Angels' lineup for Thursday's game against Arizona, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

After a 2-for-5 performance during the Angels' win Wednesday, Calhoun will take a seat for the series finale Thursday. His absence will move Taylor Ward into the DH spot while Kevin Pillar starts in left field.

  • Eloy Jimenez DH | TB

White Sox's Eloy Jimenez: Cleared for rehab assignment

Jimenez (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment with the rookie-level Arizona Complex League White Sox on Thursday, LaMond Pope of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Jimenez has been on the shelf for just over three weeks with a left hamstring strain and is now ready to test himself in a game setting. The White Sox haven't revealed how many rehab games the designated hitter might require, but a return from the 10-day injured list next week would seem to be on the table.

  • Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Taking seat Thursday

Stanton is out of the lineup for Thursday's game in Kansas City.

Stanton slugged home runs in the second and third games of the series but has bookended the power output with days off in the first and now the fourth games. Aaron Judge will get a day out of the outfield and serve as the Yankees' designated hitter Thursday while Stanton rests.

  • Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Homers in second straight game

Stanton went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run Wednesday in an 11-5 win over the Royals.

Stanton flexed his power with a 449-foot two-run blast in the fifth inning. It was his second straight game with a home run after an ugly weekend set against the Dodgers during which he went 0-for-14 with seven punchouts. Stanton is up to 17 homers and 40 RBI on the campaign along with a .233/.288/.491 slash line.
