Giancarlo Stanton DH | NYY
Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Mashes homer No. 10
Stanton went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Friday's 4-2 win over the White Sox.
He crushed a Tanner Banks fastball down the left-field line on the first pitch he saw to lead off the sixth inning. Stanton has stayed healthy so far this season and is already at 10 long balls through 39 games, giving him a shot at his first 40-homer campaign since 2017 if he can avoid lengthy injury absences. His 33.5 percent strikeout rate -- which would be the worst mark of his career if it doesn't come down -- indicates how one-dimensional the 34-year-old has become at this stage of his career, however.

Mitch Garver C | SEA
Mariners' Mitch Garver: Drives in run in return
Garver (back) went 1-for-4 with an RBI single in a loss to the Orioles on Friday.
Garver was back in the lineup after missing the last two games with back spasms, and he delivered the first run of the contest with his first-inning single. The veteran offseason addition now has seven RBI in May and has reached safely in eight of the last 10 games, but he's still carrying an abysmal .176/.286/.344 slash line across 147 plate appearances on the season.

Willie Calhoun DH | LAA
Angels' Willie Calhoun: Collects four hits
Calhoun went 4-for-5 with two runs scored and an RBI in Friday's win over the Rangers.
Calhoun opened his night with a groundout in the second inning before singling in four straight at-bats. He's knocked at least three hits in four of his first 13 games with the Angels, including two straight. However, in his other nine games, he's gone 6-for-34 (.176). Calhoun is slashing .365/.382/.577 with 11 runs scored through 55 plate appearances.

Kyle Manzardo 1B | CLE
Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Taking seat Friday
Manzardo is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Twins, Joe Noga of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Manzardo started the previous three contests and will receive a day off after going 1-for-10 with a walk and a run scored. David Fry will serve as Cleveland's designated hitter Friday.

Travis Jankowski RF | NYM
Rangers' Travis Jankowski: Not starting Friday
Jankowski is not in the lineup for Friday's matchup against the Angels.
The lefty-hitting outfielder will start from the bench as the Rangers take on lefty Tyler Anderson. With Evan Carter (back) banged up, Jankowski started the last three games in left field for the Rangers, going 3-for-10 in that stretch. Though Ezequiel Duran will take left field and bat seventh against Los Angeles.

Mitch Garver C | SEA
Mariners' Mitch Garver: Back in lineup
Garver (back) is batting third as the designated hitter for Friday's game against Baltimore.
Garver was scratched Tuesday with back spasms and was forced to miss Wednesday's contest. However, he'll be back in action for Friday's series opener against the Orioles. In May, Garver is batting .244 (10-for-41) with two homers and seven RBI.

Justin Turner 1B | CHC
Blue Jays' Justin Turner: Back in lineup
Turner (illness) is back in the lineup as the designated hitter for Friday's game against the Rays.
Turner was one of three sick Toronto players and missed the starting lineup for team's last three games due to the illness. The primary designated hitter will return against Tampa Bay, slashing .246/.317/.405 on the season with 16 RBI.

Giancarlo Stanton DH | NYY
Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Hitting bench in series finale
Stanton is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Twins.
Stanton will get a breather for the day game after a night game, ceding his spot in the lineup to Trent Grisham, who will man center field while Aaron Judge slots into Stanton's usual role at designated hitter. After making 33 starts in the corner outfield in 2023, Stanton has been deployed exclusively at DH through the first quarter of the 2024 season. Given Stanton's lengthy injury history, the Yankees will likely look to keep him in a non-defensive role so long as the likes of Judge, Juan Soto and Alex Verdugo all maintain health.

Travis Jankowski RF | NYM
Rangers' Travis Jankowski: Opportunity drying up
Jankowski started at designated hitter and went 1-for-4 in Wednesday's 4-0 win over Cleveland.
Jankowski made his third consecutive start and fourth in the last five games, but his opportunities may be coming to close. Evan Carter (lower back stiffness) is expected to return to the lineup Friday against the Angels, which is expected to move Jankowski back to a bench role. Additionally, the Angels' projected starter Friday is lefty Tyler Anderson, which would likely preclude Jankowski from making a fourth straight start.

Harold Ramirez DH | WAS
Rays' Harold Ramirez: Losing at-bats against righties
Ramirez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.
On the bench for the third time in four games -- all against right-handed starting pitchers -- Ramirez looks as though he's fallen into a short-side platoon role. He's been playing fairly regularly against both lefties and righties for most of the season, but Ramirez's overall opportunities will likely be more limited moving forward with the Rays recently welcoming back Josh Lowe and Jonathan Aranda from the injured list.
