Solak was recalled by the Tigers on Saturday.

Solak was optioned by the Tigers on Friday after being claimed off waivers from Atlanta, but he didn't have to wait long before getting a chance with the big-league club. He joins the active roster with Akil Baddoo (quadriceps) hitting the injured list, though it's likely Kerry Carpenter will be the biggest beneficiary of Baddoo's absence.

Ford went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 5-4 loss to the Angels.

This was just Ford's second hit in six games played, and he's added a mediocre 1:6 BB:K. The 30-year-old was effective in the minors, but it's yet to translate against major-league pitching. He hit three homers and slashed .206/.302/.313 over 149 plate appearances with four clubs last year, but he's yet to earn anything more than a part-time role with the Mariners in 2023.

Ohtani allowed three runs on three hits and five walks while striking out six over five innings in a no-decision versus the Mariners on Friday. He also went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run and a double at the plate.

The five walks allowed matched a season high for Ohtani, who needed 97 pitches (53 strikes) to get through the five-inning start. He was at least able to help his own cause with a third-inning homer while coming up a triple shy of the cycle. Ohtani's given up three homers and eight runs over his last 11 innings, and he's gone four starts without a win. He's at a 3.43 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 102:34 K:BB through 76 innings this season. The two-way star is also slashing .282/.356/.563 with 17 homers, 44 RBI, nine stolen bases and 38 runs scored over 63 contests. His next pitching start is projected to be at Texas next week.

White Sox manager Pedro Grifol said Friday that Jimenez (calf) is likely to be sidelined for the next 4-5 days, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.

Jimenez was pulled from the second half of Thursday's doubleheader at Yankee Stadium after experiencing discomfort just below his left calf. Grifol expressed optimism that the 26-year-old slugger will be able to avoid the 10-day injured list, but he is apparently going to miss Chicago's entire three-game weekend set against the Marlins. Gavin Sheets is playing right field in Friday's series opener and Jake Burger is serving as the designated hitter.

Rooker is not in the lineup Friday against the Brewers.

This is presumably a routine day off for Rooker, who after slumping through much of May has come alive again in June by going 6-for-21 (.286) with a double and a homer. JJ Bleday, Esteury Ruiz and Ramon Laureano will start across the outfield for the A's on Friday while Seth Brown takes a turn at designated hitter.

Jimenez (leg) is not in the lineup for Friday's contest against the Marlins.

Jimenez had to come out of the second game of Thursday's doubleheader against the Yankees with a leg injury and evidently still isn't feeling 100 percent. The specifics of the injury aren't yet clear, but at this point it seems to be a day-to-day situation. Gavin Sheets is in right field and Jake Burger will be the designated hitter Friday.

Alvarez was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday with right oblique discomfort.

While the Astros are simply calling it "discomfort" for now, Alvarez is headed back to Houston for further evaluation to determine the severity of the issue. Generally, oblique injuries result in longer than minimum stays on the IL, but a timeline for his return should become clearer once Alvarez gets checked out.

Solak was claimed off waivers by the Tigers on Friday and optioned to Triple-A Toledo.

Solak was designated for assignment by Atlanta on Tuesday and he'll now join his fourth organization of the year, having also passed through the hands of the Mariners and White Sox. The 28-year-old produced a .272 batting average with six homers, 28 RBI, 23 runs and two stolen bases over 151 at-bats in 38 games with Triple-A Gwinnett and will look to impress with Toledo in an attempt to get back to the big leagues. In order to make room on the 40-man roster, Detroit transferred Spencer Turnbull (neck) to the 60-day injured list.

Ramirez went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer in Thursday's 4-2 win over Minnesota.

Ramirez topped off a three-run inning in the bottom of the fourth with a two-run shot to center field, giving Tampa Bay a 3-1 lead. The designated hitter has now tallied six RBI over his last five games despite going hitless in his previous two and remains a steady contributor in the Rays' lineup. The home run was his ninth of the season, putting him well on pace to smash his previous season high of 11 back in 2019.

Manager Dusty Baker suggested that Alvarez will miss time after suffering an oblique injury in Thursday's game against the Blue Jays, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Alvarez left Thursday's game after feeling discomfort in his oblique while taking swings in the early innings. There hasn't been any further diagnosis, but after the game, Baker said, "We've just got to regroup and try to figure out how we're going to win some ballgames and get through this." Corey Julks and Chas McCormick figure to be the primary beneficiaries of Alvarez's absence.
