Carpenter went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, an additional run and a walk in Sunday's loss to the Red Sox.

Though Sunday wasn't a great day from a team standpoint for the Yankees, Carpenter continued to impress with his third straight multi-hit performance. The veteran has gone 7-for-9 with two walks, two homers and four RBI over that stretch, and his season slash line now stands at an eye-popping .344/.447/.859 with 10 homers and 22 RBI over 77 plate appearances. He was rarely getting into the starting lineup near the end of June, but manager Aaron Boone has found a way to get his bat into the starting nine nearly every day in July, so Carpenter should be rostered in most fantasy leagues for as long as he remains hot.

Stanton went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in a loss to Boston on Sunday.

Stanton put the Yankees on the board in the first inning with his two-run blast to right-center field. The long ball was his third in his past seven contests, though he is only 5-for-28 over that stretch. In fact, Stanton has been in all-or-nothing mode for over a month -- since June 7, 11 of his 17 hits have left the park, and he's batting just .167 over that span.

Ramirez is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Red Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Ramirez reached base three times in Sunday's 10-5 loss to the Reds, boosting his on-base percentage to a magnificent .436 since the beginning of June. His hot run of production over the past five weeks has allowed Ramirez to settle in as a regular in the lineup, but he'll get a routine maintenance day as the Rays begin a seven-game week. Ramirez had started in 13 of the Rays' last 14 games.

Jimenez went 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI on Sunday against the Tigers.

Jimenez was held out of Saturday's lineup due to general soreness, but his absence was limited to one game. He singled in a run in the eighth inning and also worked his first free pass since returning from the injured list Wednesday. Jimenez has hit well since his activation, racking up four hits across 17 plate appearances with five RBI and two runs scored.

Lewis (concussion) is scheduled to shift his rehab assignment to Triple-A Tacoma this week and is expected to make regular starts in the outfield, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

According to Kramer, the Mariners have already ruled out activating Lewis from the 7-day injured list prior to the All-Star break, but the 26-year-old is trending toward being ready to go when the big club opens its second-half schedule July 22. Through the first five games of his rehab assignment -- which has included one game with Tacoma and four with High-A Everett -- Lewis has served exclusively as a designated hitter while going 4-for-10 with three home runs and two walks.

Buxton went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Sunday's 6-5 win over the Rangers.

Buxton has gotten off to a cold start in July, going 4-for-34 (.118) in eight contests. He's salvaged some fantasy value from the slump, as all four of his hits this month have gone for extra bases (three homers, one double), and he's added a stolen base. The outfielder is up to 23 long balls, 42 RBI, 48 runs scored and a .215/.295/.550 slash line through 281 plate appearances.

The Astros placed Alvarez on the 10-day injured list Sunday with right hand inflammation.

Alvarez missed some time with a right hand injury in mid-June and quickly returned to the lineup, but the issue has apparently worsened over the past few weeks. The 25-year-old's move to the IL on Sunday means he will be eligible to return coming out of the All-Star break July 21, though it remains to be seen if he's healthy enough to be reinstated at that point. Aledmys Diaz is the most likely candidate to see increased playing time during Alvarez's absence.

Alvarez is out of the lineup Sunday against Oakland and headed back to Houston since his previously injured right hand is bothering him again, Danielle Lerner of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Alvarez won't just miss Sunday's game, but also the next three games in Anaheim against the Angels. The Astros hope to have Alvarez back later in the week against the Athletics, but keep in mind that the All-Star break is immediately after that series, so there's a risk of him missing the entire week.

Miller will start in left field and bat eighth in Sunday's game against the Twins.

Though he'll be manning left field in the series finale, Miller could take over as the Rangers' primary designated hitter beginning with Monday's game against the Athletics. Mitch Garver (forearm) is in the lineup Sunday but is slated to undergo season-ending surgery Monday, leaving the DH role available for the taking. The lefty-hitting Miller could end up filling the large-side of a platoon at DH, with the Rangers then rotating a number of righty-hitting players at that spot versus left-handed pitching.

Alvarez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game at Oakland.

Alvarez started the past eight games after missing two contests with a head injury, and he'll take Sunday off after posting a .964 OPS with three doubles, three home runs, four RBI and eight runs during that stretch. Aledmys Diaz will serve as Houston's designated hitter in the series finale.
