Brantley went 3-for-3 with a double, two RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 9-3 win over Cleveland.

Brantley notched a double in the third, but his biggest hit game during the fifth when he plated two on a single to right field to cap off a six-run inning. Tuesday was his fourth multi-hit effort over his last six games. The 34-year-old drools over right-handed pitching, slashing .376/.424/.556 with five homers, 24 RBI and 28 runs scored in 205 plate appearances. He'll have a prime opportunity for another impactful game Wednesday when Cleveland sends Eli Morgan (7.86 ERA) to the bump.

Soler went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk during Tuesday's win over the Brewers.

Soler socked a 424-foot shot against Brett Anderson in the fourth inning. The long ball has been a rare occurrence this season for the 29-year-old, who mashed 48 homers during his 2019 campaign. This year, he's tallied only eight while batting a bleak .185/.280/.324.

Choi was a late addition to Tuesday's lineup against the Orioles after Yandy Diaz was scratched for undisclosed reasons, Steve Carney of Sports Radio 620 WDAE reports.

Choi was initially slated to begin the game on the bench, but with Diaz unable to go, he'll get the nod at first base and bat seventh against left-hander John Means.

Torrens is not starting Tuesday's game against the Rockies.

Torrens has done well while serving as the Mariners' primary DH of late, going 7-for-24 with a triple, a homer and three RBI across his last seven games. He won't be able to start Tuesday with no DH slot, but Torrens figures to be a top option off the bench.

Alvarez is in Tuesday's starting lineup against Cleveland after exiting Monday's game with a hamstring issue.

Alvarez figures to have passed all tests after being looked at again by trainers Tuesday. It's still not entirely clear what happened to the slugger's hamstring during Monday's game, but if any issue is still present, it seems to be something Alvarez can play through for the time being.

Choi will sit against lefty John Means and the Orioles on Tuesday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

The Rays haven't protected Choi against lefties too often, though he's now been on the bench against the last two southpaws they've faced after previously starting against six of the last nine. Yandy Diaz starts at first base Tuesday.

Ohtani allowed three hits and a walk while striking out eight over six scoreless innings Monday in a no-decision against the Athletics. He also went 1-for-4 with a double.

Ohtani traded zeroes on the scoreboard with opposing starter Cole Irvin for six innings. His brilliant effort went to waste in the seventh, when Steve Cishek allowed three runs on one swing of the bat. The Athletics threatened to score on a few occasions, but Ohtani was able to shut the door on them each time. He induced 14 swinging strikes and notched at least eight strikeouts for the first time in nearly a month. The 27-year-old two-way superstar owns a 3.21 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 36:4 K:BB over 73 innings, and he tentatively lines up for a favorable matchup against the Rockies at the beginning of next week.

Martinez batted fifth and went 4-for-4 with a walk and two runs scored in Monday's 13-4 win over Toronto.

Martinez had batted third in all but one game prior to Monday, but manager Alex Cora wanted to tweak a lineup that he felt had been underperforming since early in the month, per Jordan Horrobin of MLB.com. That includes losing two of three to Yankees over the weekend, a series that saw the Red Sox score just six runs while batting .172. Ironically, Cora wanted to "get some traffic" on the bases in front of Martinez -- Xander Bogaerts and Rafael Devers -- but none of his plate appearances in this one came with runners in scoring position.

Alvarez suffered a hamstring injury during Monday's game against the Indians, Mark Berman of Fox 26 Houston reports. He went 2-for-3 with a home run, double, a walk and two RBI in Houston's 4-3 win.

According to manager Dusty Baker, Alvarez suffered the injury on his double in the seventh inning, though it's unclear if the slugger will be forced to miss any time as a result. The team is set to re-evaluate Alvarez early Tuesday before assessing his status for the second game of the series later that day.

Reyes went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Monday's 4-3 loss to Houston.

Reyes' solo shot in the fourth inning was his 16th of the year and fifth in 11 games this month. Since returning from the injured list on July 2, the right-handed slugger is hitting 14-for-44 (.318) with six extra-base hits and 13 RBI. For the season, Reyes is sporting a .928 OPS with 42 RBI and 28 runs scored.
