Torrens is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Rangers.

Torrens is mired in a 1-for-20 slump and will take a seat for the second time in the past three games. Jake Bauers will bat ninth as the designated hitter in his place Wednesday.

Canha (eye) is starting Wednesday's game against Cleveland.

Canha was removed from Tuesday's win in the 10th inning due to eye irritation, but he'll start in left field and lead off Wednesday. The 32-year-old has gone 3-for-19 with a double, five runs, four walks and four strikeouts across the last five games.

Choi (hamstring) is starting Wednesday's game against the Red Sox, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

Choi entered Tuesday's game as a pinch hitter but exited the contest due to left hamstring soreness. However, the injury won't force him to miss additional time, as he'll start at first base and bat second Wednesday.

Stanton isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Royals.

Stanton recorded five consecutive multi-hit games late last week, but he's cooled off recently and has gone 1-for-11 with three walks and three strikeouts across the last three games. Aaron Judge will serve as the designated hitter while Joey Gallo shifts to right field.

Lewis (knee) will take batting practice on the field during the Mariners' current homestand, which runs through Sunday, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Lewis has recently been taking part in baseball activities, but the batting practice will be his first on-field work since landing on the shelf in late May. The 26-year-old remains without a timetable for his return, though manager Scott Servais is confident the outfielder will take the field again this season. Lewis will need to continue ramping up his rehab work before embarking on what could be a lengthy rehab assignment.

Choi exited Tuesday's game against the Red Sox with left hamstring soreness, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Choi didn't start Tuesday's contest but apparently suffered the injury during the seventh inning when he tied the game 4-4 on a pinch-hit, two-RBI double. The 30-year-old should be considered day-to-day heading into Wednesday's contest in Boston.

Choi is not starting Tuesday against Boston and left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

Choi is hitless in his 16 August at-bats, so he'll get a chance to reset with the lefty on the mound Tuesday. Jordan Luplow will move to the infield to man first base and bat fifth.

Astros manager Dusty Baker said Brantley (head) would start in left field Tuesday against the Rockies, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Houston isn't expected to release its lineup until a few hours prior to Tuesday's 8:10 p.m. ET first pitch, but the starting nine will include Brantley, who was removed from the Astros' last game Sunday against the Twins after taking a hit to the head during a collision on the bases with Minnesota's Andrelton Simmons. Brantley apparently passed all concussion tests, with the Astros later terming his removal as precautionary. The team's plan to deploy Brantley in the outfield rather than as a designated hitter supports the notion that there's no concern about his health.

Rooker went 0-for-4 with four strikeouts Monday in the Twins' 11-1 loss to the White Sox.

The Twins continue to deploy Rooker as their No. 2 hitter, but his poor results of late could prompt manager Rocco Baldelli to push the rookie down in the batting order. Through eight games in August, Rooker has gone 4-for-34 while drawing only two walks against 11 strikeouts. His batting average now sits at .168 for the season.
