  • Cubs' Christopher Morel: Leaves yard in win

Morel went 1-for-1 with a three-run home run in Tuesday's victory over Pittsburgh.

Morel entered the game in the sixth inning, replacing Ian Happ (calf), and made the most of his lone plate appearance, launching a 404-foot blast in the eighth inning for his 11th home run of the season. Playing time has been hard to come by of late for the 23-year-old, as he has logged just 19 at-bats in the month of June.

  • Pirates' Andrew McCutchen: On bench Tuesday

McCutchen is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Cubs.

This appears to be a planned day of rest for the 36-year-old McCutchen. Bryan Reynolds is taking a turn as the Pirates' designated hitter while Connor Joe, Jack Suwinski and Josh Palacios start across the outfield.

  • Marcell Ozuna DH | PIT

Braves' Marcell Ozuna: Out with bruised wrist

Ozuna (wrist) is absent from the lineup Tuesday versus the Tigers.

Ozuna took a pitch off his right wrist in Monday's series opener against Detroit, but X-rays showed no fractures and he is considered day-to-day. Eddie Rosario will grab a turn at designated hitter Tuesday with Kevin Pillar patrolling left field.

  • Mets' Daniel Vogelbach: Sitting again Tuesday

Vogelbach remains out of the lineup Tuesday versus the Yankees.

Vogelbach, who's slashing just .203/.343/.297 on the year, has now gone five straight games without a start. Tommy Pham will serve as the Mets' designated hitter and bat seventh Tuesday against the Yankees and right-hander Luis Severino.

  • Mark Vientos DH | NYM

Mets' Mark Vientos: On bench Tuesday

Vientos is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Yankees.

Tommy Pham will serve as the Mets' designated hitter and Mark Canha will cover first base in the opening game of the Subway Series. Brett Baty is at third. Vientos, 23, has slashed just .167/.200/.238 in 15 games (45 plate appearances) since being called up from Triple-A Syracuse on May 17.

  • Marcell Ozuna DH | PIT

    Braves' Marcell Ozuna: Officially day-to-day

Ozuna was removed from Monday's game as a precaution due to a right wrist contusion.

Ozuna, who was pulled after getting hit by a pitch in his second at-bat Monday, appears to have avoided a serious injury. It's possible Atlanta keeps him out of the lineup Tuesday in order for him to heal, but he figures to be back within a few days. Ozuna is in the midst of a nine-game hitting streak and is hitting .414 with two home runs and three doubles over that stretch.

  • Marcell Ozuna DH | PIT

Braves' Marcell Ozuna: Pulled after HBP

Ozuna was removed from Monday's game against the Tigers after getting hit by a pitch, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Ozuna initially remained in the game after taking a pitch to the hand/wrist, but Travis d'Arnaud later pinch-hit for him. Atlanta has yet to offer any details regarding Ozuna's injury, but he did seem to be in quite a bit of pain immediately after getting hit. He should be considered day-to-day until more is known.

  • Joc Pederson DH | TEX

Giants' Joc Pederson: Sitting versus lefty

Pederson is not in the starting lineup Monday versus the Cardinals.

He will take a seat as the Giants face off with left-hander Matthew Liberatore on the mound. Pederson had started six games in a row -- all against righties -- but he has not started against a lefty all season.

  • Kyle Lewis DH | ARI

Diamondbacks' Kyle Lewis: Activated and optioned

The Diamondbacks reinstated Lewis (illness) from the 10-day injured list Monday and optioned him to Triple-A Reno, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.

Lewis is evidently over the undiclosed illness which has kept him sidelined since early April. However, the Diamondbacks decided they don't have a spot for him on the major-league club right now, so he'll remain in Reno, where he had been on his rehab assignment.

  • Mark Canha LF | TEX

Mets' Mark Canha: Nabs fourth steal

Canha went 1-for-3 with a stolen base in Sunday's loss to the Pirates.

The hit was one of only three for the Mets on the afternoon, while the steal was Canha's fourth in 57 games -- exceeding his total of three from last season in 140 games. The 34-year-old has picked up the pace at the plate, slashing .302/.423/.488 over his last 15 games with two homers, two steals, six runs and nine RBI, and in the absence of Pete Alonso (wrist) he figures to split time at first base with Mark Vientos while also seeing action in the outfield corners.
