  • Joc Pederson DH | TEX

Diamondbacks' Joc Pederson: Tallies homer and steal

Pederson went 2-for-4 with a homer, a steal, two RBI and two runs scored in Friday's 7-1 win over the White Sox.

Pederson collected his fourth steal of the season, marking his highest total since 2017 -- his career high is six, set in 2016. The veteran lefty bat flashed his power too, tattooing a 425-foot solo homer off Michael Soroka in the seventh for the Diamondbacks' final run of the evening. The 32-year-old Pederson has found new life in Arizona, slashing .291/.387/.521 over 197 plate appearances with nine homers, 24 runs scored and 30 RBI this season.

  • Pirates' Andrew McCutchen: Clubs ninth homer

McCutchen went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and two runs scored in Friday's 5-2 win over Colorado.

The 37-year-old crushed a mammoth 448-foot solo homer of Ryan Feltner in the sixth inning to give the Pirates a lead they never relinquished. McCutchen later tallied another run when a Bryan Reynolds single drove him home in the eighth. McCutchen has been a steady producer over the last 30 days, hitting .297 (28-for-94) with five homers, 19 runs scored and 12 RBI in 22 games.

  • Nick Martini LF | CIN

Reds' Nick Martini: Back in majors

The Reds recalled Martini from Triple-A Louisville on Friday.

He's taking the roster spot vacated by Blake Dunn, who was optioned to Louisville on Thursday. Martini has slashed .200/.242/.355 with four home runs in 38 games with the big club this season. He could see the occasional start against righties but mostly figures to operate as a bench bat.

  • Joc Pederson DH | TEX

Diamondbacks' Joc Pederson: Drives in five in rout

Pederson went 2-for-5 with a walk, a home run, five RBI and an additional run scored in Thursday's 11-1 over the Angels.

Pederson was responsible for Arizona's final five runs, belting a grand slam in the seventh inning then singling in the final run an inning later. The homer was the first in 10 games for Pederson, who entered on a 4-for-27 (.148) run over the previous nine contests.

  • J.D. Martinez DH | NYM

Mets' J.D. Martinez: Belts first career walk-off homer

Martinez went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a double Thursday in a 3-2 win against the Marlins.

Martinez accounted for both of New York's extra-base hits in the victory, with his first knock being a seventh-inning double that contributed to the team's first run. The veteran slugger's second hit was more dramatic -- he took Miami closer Tanner Scott deep for a two-run, walk-off homer in the bottom of the ninth inning. It was Martinez's 321st career long ball and the first walk-off home run of his 14-year career. He's gone deep six times through 168 plate appearances this season.

  • Kyle Schwarber LF | PHI

Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: Three hits, three RBI in loss

Schwarber went 3-for-4 with three RBI in a 9-3 loss to the Red Sox on Thursday.

Schwarber singled in the first inning then got the Phillies on the board with a three-run double in the fourth. He later added another single in the seventh and walked in the ninth. Schwarber is riding a six-game hit streak that includes three multi-hit efforts, two home runs and five RBI. Schwarber's current .249 average would be his best in a Phillies uniform, and he now has 13 home runs, 41 RBI and 48 runs scored in 305 plate appearances.

  • Shohei Ohtani DH | LAD

Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani: Belts another long ball

Ohtani went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's loss to Texas.

Ohtani gave the Dodgers an early lead with a 424-foot solo shot in the first inning, but Los Angeles managed only one run the rest of the game. The homer was the second in as many days for the slugger, and he's up to 17 on the campaign, tied for sixth most in the majors. Ohtani has added 44 RBI, 51 runs, 15 stolen bases and a .311/.383/.587 slash line through 298 plate appearances.

  • Pirates' Andrew McCutchen: Getting breather Thursday

McCutchen isn't in the lineup for Thursday's contest in St. Louis.

The Pirates are giving Bryan Reynolds a start in the designated hitter slot while Jack Suwinski plays left field and Michael Taylor handles center field. McCutchen has struggled in his career against the Cardinals' starting pitcher for Thursday's game, Lance Lynn, going 13-for-57 with a 21:1 K:BB.

  • Matt Carpenter DH | STL

Cardinals' Matt Carpenter: Not in St. Louis lineup

Carpenter is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game against the Pirates.

Carpenter has been seeing most of the starts in the designated-hitter spot for the Cardinals versus righties since Lars Nootbaar (oblique) went on the injured list, resulting in Alec Burleson playing regularly in right field. However, Carpenter will begin Thursday's contest on the bench against right-hander Mitch Keller. Nolan Arenado will serve as St. Louis' DH while Jose Fermin replaces Arenado at third base.

  • Jorge Soler RF | LAA

Giants' Jorge Soler: Gets on base four times

Soler went 2-for-2 with two walks and one run scored in Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Astros.

Soler has found some success at the plate in June, going 11-for-37 (.297) over 10 contests this month. He's also drawn four walks over his last three games, though his 9.6 percent walk rate is still his lowest since 2015. While it's a positive to see the designated hitter make more consistent contact, he's still struggling to hit for power. He's batting .217 with a .661 OPS, seven home runs, 18 RBI, 26 runs scored, nine doubles and no stolen bases over 56 games this season. Soler's lowest OPS in a season is .503 in 2017, but he played in just 35 games that year.
