  • Brewers' Daniel Vogelbach: Sitting for afternoon game

Vogelbach will hit the bench for the first half of Monday's doubleheader against the Cardinals.

Vogelbach sits with lefty Kwang Hyun Kim on the mound for the opener. He'll likely return for the nightcap against righty Daniel Ponce de Leon. Christian Yelich will rest his legs as the designated hitter in the afternoon game, with Tyrone Taylor starting in left field.

  • Matt Carpenter DH | STL

Cardinals' Matt Carpenter: Continues surging Sunday

Carpenter went 2-for-4 with an RBI single, a double and two runs in a loss to the Reds on Sunday.

Carpenter was the only Cardinal to churn out multiple hits in the five-run loss, with the veteran extending a hot streak at the plate that has seen him produce a trio of two-hit efforts in the last four contests. It's a highly welcome sight for Carpenter's long-suffering fantasy managers, who just saw him finally get his average over the Mendoza Line for the first time since Aug. 27 on Saturday. Carpenter has also shown a penchant for clutch hitting in particular of late, as he now has six RBI over the last six games.

  • Jesse Winker DH | NYM

Reds' Jesse Winker: Could be available off bench

Winker will test his tight back in a pre-game workout Monday and could be available off the bench for both halves of the day's doubleheader against the Pirates, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Winker will sit for the fourth straight game in the afternoon contest, and it sounds as though he'll be sitting for the nightcap as well. The fact that he's yet to be placed on the injured list suggests that he could start at some point this week, perhaps quite soon, though a clearer picture of his availability won't come until after he completes his workout.

  • Jesse Winker DH | NYM

Reds' Jesse Winker: Sitting for first game of twin bill

Winker (back) remains out of the lineup for the first game of Monday's doubleheader with the Pirates, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Winker will miss his fourth straight game while he continues to battle tightness in his back. The Reds' decision to resist placing Winker on the injured list up to this point suggests he's viewed as day-to-day, but his ongoing absence may nonetheless prompt risk-averse fantasy managers to avoid using him in weekly lineups. Nick Castellanos will serve as the Reds' designated hitter with Winker out for Game 1 of the twin bill, while Aristedes Aquino picks up a start in right field.

  • Jesse Winker DH | NYM

Reds' Jesse Winker: Remains out Sunday

Winker (back) is not in the lineup Sunday against the Cardinals, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

Winker will be sidelined for the third straight contest as he continues to deal with back tightness. Joey Votto will serve as the designated hitter while Mike Moustakas starts at first base Sunday.

  • Bryce Harper DH | PHI

Phillies' Bryce Harper: Turns in three-hit day

Harper went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, two walks, an RBI and three runs scored Saturday as he helped the Phillies to a 12-6 win over the Marlins.

The 27-year-old reached base five times in the victory. His night was highlighted by a leadoff solo home run to the opposite field in the third inning to extend Philadelphia's lead to 5-0. Harper is hitting .263 this season with eight home runs and 22 RBI but also has a .425 on-base percentage, which is on track to be his highest mark since his MVP season in 2015.

  • Brad Miller DH | SD

Cardinals' Brad Miller: Crushes game-tying homer

Miller went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 7-1 win over the Reds.

Miller took Reds starter Tejay Antone deep to center field in the fourth inning, which tied the game at one. That was Miller's sixth homer of the season, to go with a stolen base, 22 RBI and 17 runs scored in 30 games. He's gone just 6-for-32 (.188) with a pair of homers, four RBI and five runs scored in his last 10 contests.

  • Matt Carpenter DH | STL

Cardinals' Matt Carpenter: Clubs third homer

Carpenter went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 7-1 win over the Reds.

Carpenter gave the Cardinals some breathing room in the sixth inning with a leadoff solo shot. The veteran infielder has three homers, 20 RBI and 17 runs scored in 35 games this season and is slashing .204/.366/.337 across 123 plate appearances.

  • Joc Pederson DH | TEX

Dodgers' Joc Pederson: Sitting against lefty

Pederson is not in the lineup Saturday against the Astros, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.

The 28-year-old was activated from the paternity list Friday, but he won't immediately rejoin the lineup with lefty Framber Valdez pitching for Houston. Pederson figures to start Sunday against righty Zack Greinke. A.J. Pollock will shift to left field while Gavin Lux serves as the designated hitter.

  • Jesse Winker DH | NYM

Reds' Jesse Winker: Still out Saturday

Winker (back) isn't in the lineup Saturday against the Cardinals.

Winker will sit out a second straight contest after leaving Thursday's game with back tightness. Aristides Aquino will serve as the designated hitter Saturday.
