    After going 0-for-2 with two walks, a run scored and his fourth stolen base of the year in the matinee, McCutchen took Ross Stripling deep in the third inning of the nightcap for his eighth homer. The veteran outfielder is struggling to make consistent contact right now, going 4-for-29 (.138) with 10 strikeouts over his last eight games, but he's still finding ways to contribute.

    Harper went 4-for-6 with two walks, two doubles, a home run, three runs scored and four RBI across both games of Friday's doubleheader as the Phillies swept the Blue Jays.

    His two-run shot off Robbie Ray in the matinee gave the Phils some insurance runs in a 7-0 victory, then Harper reached base all four times he came to the plate in the nightcap in a wild 8-7 win. Over his last 10 games, the 27-year-old is slashing .343/.452/.829 with four homers and seven RBI as he tries to lead Philadelphia into the postseason.

    Turner started three straight games as the designated hitter after returning from the injured list Tuesday. A.J. Pollock (hamstring) fills that role Friday, with Edwin Rios starting at third base.

    Vogelbach has been strictly platooned since joining the Brewers in early September. He's looked quite good in his first 10 games for his new team, hitting .406/.472/.563, a stark contrast from the .088/.246/.211 line his managed in his first 20 games of the season for the Mariners and Blue Jays. Avisail will rest his legs as the designated hitter in this one, with Tyrone Taylor starting in center.

    Harper went 2-for-3 with a pair of solo home runs and two walks in a loss to the Mets on Thursday.

    Harper did his part to get Philadelphia off to a fast start, launching a pair of massive home runs totaling 878 combined feet off Mets starter Seth Lugo in the first two innings. New York was more careful with the slugger going forward, walking him twice over his subsequent three plate appearances. Harper has racked up 10 homers and 24 RBI in his second season with the Phillies.

    Ruf went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and a walk during the Giants' 6-4 win over Seattle on Thursday.

    Ruf took Nick Margevicius deep in the second inning to collect his fourth home run of the season. He is slashing a strong .297/.375/.578 through 64 at-bats thus far.

    Pederson is expected to return from the family medical emergency list as soon as early next week, Jesse Sanchez of MLB.com reports.

    Pederson was moved to the family medical emergency list Wednesday and must spend at least three days on the list. "We'll see," stated skipper Dave Roberts. "That could change, obviously. It's family first, but the goal is to see him back on the field and in the lineup depending on who the pitcher is on Tuesday."
