Rooker (groin) returned to Rochester after the Gulf Coast League playoffs were cancelled in advance of Hurricane Dorian, Justin Murphy of the Democrat and Chronicle reports.

Rooker played in two rehab games with the GCL Twins before the rest of the season was called off. He returned to Triple-A Rochester but was not activated from the 7-day injured list before Rochester's season concluded Monday. He's not on the 40-man roster and seems highly unlikely to get the callup this year. Rooker was also not announced for the Arizona Fall League; assuming this is it for him in 2019, he ends the year having hit .281/.398/.535 with 14 homers in just 65 games at the Triple-A level.

Ohtani is not in the lineup Thursday against the Athletics, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Ohtani has gone just 4-for-36 (.111) with two walks and 16 strikeouts over his past 10 appearances. He'll head to the bench against lefty Brett Anderson on Thursday as Justin Upton gets a start at DH in his place.

Dickerson (oblique), who is not in Thursday's lineup against the Cardinals, could lose out on playing time over the rest of the season following the promotion of Jaylin Davis.

The 29-year-old has been a productive hitter this season with the Giants, hitting .308/.374/.579 with six home runs in 46 games, but he is not a great defender. Davis, on the other hand, is only 25 years old and has more long-term upside. While Davis hits right-handed, it seems unlikely that the Giants would have called him up this month if they only intended on giving him starts against lefties, and indeed, he is starting in right field against a righty in Thursday's game. It's also worth noting that Dickerson's oblique is still bothering him, per Kerry Crowley of The San Jose Mercury News. The outfielder said he hasn't felt right since returning from the injured list in August, though a recent MRI came back clean.

Cabrera is not in Thursday's lineup against the Royals.

He has been swinging a hot bat, slashing .379/.455/.552 with one home run over his last eight games. Christin Stewart starts at designated hitter and will bat third.

Solak started at third base and went 2-for-4 in Wednesday's 4-1 loss to the Yankees.

Solak continues to make regular appearances in the Rangers' starting lineup. Wednesday's start was his second at third base after he served primarily as the designated hitter and second baseman. He's in line for a full-time role for the rest of the season and will be considered an everyday starter at some position in 2020. Third base, and possibly second base, is wide-open next season, depending on how the Rangers feel about Rougned Odor clogging the lineup with a sub-.200 bat.

Collins will play more during September than he did in his first callup earlier this season, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Collins was in the lineup for a second straight day Wednesday, serving as the designated hitter once again. He's 2-for-5 with two walks, a triple and an RBI in the two contests. "Zack's ability to fill three spots for us, catcher, first base and DH leads me to suspect there is going to be more opportunities for him here over the next few weeks than the first time around," White Sox general manager Rick Hahn said. The White Sox are anxious to see if adjustments Collins made to his plate approach recently at Triple-A Charlotte will carry over to the majors.

Pederson went 2-for-3 with two home runs and three RBI in a 7-3 win over the Rockies on Wednesday.

Pederson hit a leadoff home run to start the game and added a two-run shot in the fourth inning. Pederson has hit five home runs in his last three games, including an impressive stretch where he blasted five in six at-bats. Pederson is hitting .245/.336/.535 with 32 home runs and 67 RBI through 129 games this season.

Ohtani was moved to the fifth spot in the batting order and went 0-for-3 with three strikeouts against Oakland on Wednesday.

Ohtani had occupied the third spot in the order in each of his starts this year, but Brian Goodwin was pencilled in to the esteemed position behind Mike Trout on Wednesday. The move may have been an attempt to shake Ohtani out of a recent slump that has seen him go 4-for-37 over his last 11 games. It remains to be seen whether the lineup change is permanent or a one-off experiment.

Stanton (knee) will head to Tampa to start engaging in regular live batting practice, Lindsey Adler of The Athletic reports.

Stanton participated in on-field batting practice in New York on Tuesday but will be able to get more at-bats in Tampa. Per Brendan Kuty of The Newark Star-Ledger, Stanton is expected to spend time playing the outfield when he returns to action, so he'll likely continue to participate in defensive drills as well. The slugger has played in only nine games for the Yankees this season but is aiming to return by the end of September.

Soler went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's win over the Tigers.

After setting the franchise homer record a night ago, Soler cranked out yet another long ball, reaching the 40-homer mark for the first time in his career. The 27-year-old outfielder is now batting .255/.347/.545 on the season with 101 RBI.
