Pederson went 3-for-3 with a pair of bombs and a walk in Saturday's 5-0 victory over the Marlins.

It was the first time since Aug. 17 that Pederson reached base four times in a game. This was also his first multi-home run game since June 14. He is batting .249 with 22 homers, 58 RBI, 56 runs and five stolen bases this season.

Martinez went 3-for-3 with a two-run single, a walk and a run in Friday's 4-3 victory over the Orioles.

Martinez plated Jose Iglesias and Ian Kinsler in the fifth with his run-scoring hit, extending the Tigers' lead to 3-0 at the time. The slugging outfielder has torn the cover off the ball since returning from an extended DL stint in early August, with a .400/.455/.677 line that includes 12 doubles, eight homers and 19 RBI.

Carpenter went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 4-3 win over the Brewers.

The Cardinals were down by three runs early on, but Carpenter got them on the board with a two-run dinger in the third, shortly before Stephen Piscotty put them ahead with one of his own. Carpenter owns a career-best .917 OPS this season and has scored a run in five consecutive games as his club scraps for a postseason berth.

Miller (elbow) is hitting cleanup as the Rays' DH on Friday against the Yankees, the Tampa Bay Times' Marc Topkin reports.

X-rays were negative on his elbow, which was sore and caused him to exit Thursday's game early. The Rays can afford to give him a few games at DH if necessary, but apparently he is healthy enough to hit live pitching Friday.

X-rays on Miller's elbow have been returned negative.

His availability for Friday and the rest of the weekend is uncertain but it seems Miller avoided a serious injury after being hit by a pitch Thursday.

Miller was forced out of Thursday's matchup early due to right elbow soreness.

X-rays on MIller's elbow came back negative. He had yet to have an at-bat before exiting the game, and being replaced by Alexei Ramirez. Consider him day-to-day going forward.

Blackmon (back) is returning to the lineup Thursday, batting leadoff and taking over in center field.

After missing several games due to some back stiffness, Blackmon will draw back in for Thursday's series opener in San Diego. He'll take up his usual role as the leadoff man and as the center fielder for Colorado. Blackmon has been on an absolute tear since the beginning of August, hitting .360 with a 1.140 OPS, 11 home runs, and six doubles over 114 at-bats.

Belt went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and a walk against the Rockies on Wednesday.

The first baseman had been mired in an 0-for-18 slump -- including an 0-for-3 day at Coors Field on Monday that resulted in an off day Tuesday -- but a second chance to hit in Colorado seemingly cured what's been ailing him. Of course, now the Giants have to return to real life, but with a series in Arizona next, Belt's bat could continue heating up.

Buxton went 2-for-4 with a double, a homer and two runs scored Wednesday against the Royals.

Since joining the roster as a September call-up, Buxton's been rapidly regaining all the allure he lost with his MLB struggles last season and earlier this year. Over seven games, he's gone 12-for-26 with four doubles, four homers, 10 RBI and 10 runs -- now that's what we're looking for from a guy who was for a time considered the game's top prospect. He's likely still available as a waiver add in a lot of yearly leagues.

Pederson is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Diamondbacks.

The Dodgers are deploying an all-righty lineup Wednesday (with the exception of Corey Seager and pitcher Brock Stewart) against southpaw Robbie Ray. Enrique Hernandez will get the start in center field and hit second.
