Jorge Lopez RP | WAS
Twins' Jorge Lopez: Out for mental health reasons
The Twins transferred Lopez from the restricted list to the 15-day injured list for mental health reasons Sunday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
Minnesota initially placed the right-hander on the restricted list earlier Sunday before moving him to the IL. Lopez has given up 12 earned runs, including five homers, in his past eight appearances, and he'll now step away from the team in order to address his mental health.

Anthony Misiewicz RP | CIN
Tigers' Anthony Misiewicz: Claimed by Detroit
Misiewicz was claimed off waivers by the Tigers and optioned to Triple-A Toledo on Sunday.
The left-hander was recently designated for assignment by the Diamondbacks and will now join a new organization. Misiewicz had a 5.63 ERA across eight innings for Arizona before he suffered a calf strain May 19, and the club opted not to keep him around after reinstating him from the injured list last weekend.

Jordan Balazovic RP | DET
Twins' Jordan Balazovic: Called up by Minnesota
Balazovic was called up from Triple-A St. Paul on Sunday.
The 24-year-old will take the roster spot of Jorge Lopez, who was placed on the restricted list. Balazovic has shifted to a bullpen role at St. Paul this season and has a 4.79 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and 50:21 K:BB across 35.2 innings.

Jorge Lopez RP | WAS
Twins' Jorge Lopez: Lands on restricted list
Lopez was placed on the restricted list Sunday for unspecified reasons.
The reason for the transaction is unclear, though Lopez has surrendered 12 earned runs, including five homers, in his past eight outings and has a 5.00 ERA this season. It remains to be seen when the right-hander will rejoin the Twins.

Jorge Alcala RP | TOR
Twins' Jorge Alcala: Moves to 60-day IL
Minnesota transferred Alcala (forearm) on Sunday from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day injured list.
Alcala is now off the 40-man roster, and the Twins used that roster spot to reinstate Gilberto Celestino off the 60-day IL before optioning the outfielder to Triple-A St. Paul. Alcala was diagnosed with a stress fracture in his right forearm in the middle of May, and he won't be able to return to the Minnesota pitching staff until after the All-Star break.

Reed Garrett RP | NYM
Orioles' Reed Garrett: Removed from 40-man roster
Garrett was designated for assignment by Baltimore on Sunday.
Garrett was optioned to Triple-A by Baltimore on Saturday, and he's now off the 40-man roster. The right-hander's removal opens a spot for Jose Godoy, who had his contract selected from Triple-A Norfolk in the corresponding move.

Mike Mayers RP | TOR
Royals' Mike Mayers: Designated for assignment
Mayers was designated for assignment by Kansas City on Sunday.
Mayers was removed from both the 40- and 26-man active rosters after allowing six runs over five innings in a no-decision against the Angels on Saturday. If he goes unclaimed or isn't traded, he'll likely report back to Triple-A Omaha to provide pitching depth, but he'll have to be added back to the 40-man roster in order to pitch in the majors again.

Josh Sborz RP | TEX
Rangers' Josh Sborz: Moves into setup role
Sborz allowed one hit over two scoreless innings to earn a hold in Saturday's 4-2 win over Toronto.
Sborz entered a one-run game and shut down the Blue Jays in the seventh and eighth innings for his sixth hold. The right-hander hasn't allowed an earned run over his last 11.2 innings. Rangers manager Bruce Bochy appears to have found a solution to a bullpen that wobbled during the month of May. Sborz and Grant Anderson have moved into high-leverage roles, shepherding leads to closer Will Smith. Both Sborz and Anderson typically work multiple innings, so Bochy can alternate his trusted arms for more than three outs nearly every day.

Shawn Dubin RP | ARI
Astros' Shawn Dubin: Recalled from Triple-A
The Astros recalled Dubin from Triple-A Sugar Land on Sunday, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Dubin will take the place of Brandon Bielak after Bielak was optioned to Triple-A in the corresponding move. In nine appearances for Sugar Land in 2023, Dubin has registered an unhealthy 7.96 ERA with a 1.69 WHIP over 26 appearances. He'll likely be a multi-inning reliever for low-leverage situations while with the Astros.

Will Vest RP | DET
Tigers' Will Vest: Opening again Sunday
Vest will start Sunday's game against the Twins, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
The 28-year-old delivered a scoreless frame as the opener Friday and will receive another start in Sunday's series finale. Vest hasn't recorded more than six outs in any of his 23 appearances this year, so he should turn things over to the bullpen after an inning or two.
