Sewald struck out two in a perfect inning to earn the save in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Athletics.

Sewald has saves in each of his last two outings after a nearly three-week gap between opportunities. He's kept runs off the board in four of his last five outings, lowering his ERA to 3.18 with a 0.88 WHIP and 30:5 K:BB over 22.2 innings overall. He's 11-for-11 in save chances as the Mariners' top closer with Andres Munoz (shoulder) out for a majority of the campaign so far.

Ramirez was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre following Thursday's game against the Orioles.

Ramirez was recalled May 17 and has made three appearances since, allowing no earned runs across 2.2 frames. He pitched both Wednesday and Thursday, so this could be a move to ensure the team has enough arms in its bullpen to get through its weekend series against the Padres.

Snead (shoulder) will throw roughly 20 pitches in a sim game Friday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Snead is currently on the 60-day injured list after suffering a shoulder strain in early March. He's eligible to return May 29, though that's unlikely given the state of his throwing progression. Snead could realistically return in early to mid-June following a rehab assignment.

Tarnok (shoulder) will throw around 20 pitches in a simulated game Friday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Tarnok has been sidelined since Opening Day after suffering a shoulder strain in the middle of spring training. He could begin a rehab assignment shortly after the sim game, meaning a return in mid-to-late June is realistic, barring setbacks.

Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said Thursday that a decision on Tate (forearm) is coming "sometime soon," Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Tate's rehab window has come to a close, so he either has to be activated from the injured list or optioned to Triple-A Norfolk. The 29-year-old is recovered from his offseason forearm strain but has surrendered 15 runs -- 13 earned -- in 8.1 innings of relief between three different levels of the O's minor-league system. That works out to a 14.04 ERA.

Hendriks (illness) will throw live batting practice Friday in Detroit, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Hendriks is traveling with the White Sox and seems to be on the brink of being activated from the injured list, depending how Friday's workout goes. He drew rave reviews following a live BP session this past Monday. The veteran closer has not yet appeared in a major-league game for Chicago this year following an offseason diagnosis of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.

Beeks will serve as the Rays' opener ahead of primary pitcher Cooper Criswell against the Dodgers on Friday, Ryan Bass of Bally Sports Sun reports.

Friday will mark Beeks' sixth start of the season and his first appearance since Sunday against the Brewers. He has a 0.96 ERA and 0.75 WHIP across his last six appearances but hasn't pitched more than two innings in a game since April.

Bachman is expected to be called up from Double-A Rocket City by the Angels on Thursday, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.

The 2021 first-round pick has flashed big stuff when healthy, but his results this season with Rocket City haven't been good, particularly over his last four starts with a 9.19 ERA and 13:17 K:BB over 15.2 innings. Sam Blum of The Athletic reports that the Angels plan to use Bachman out of the bullpen.

Taylor (1-2) allowed three runs on three hits and struck out one in one inning, taking the loss Wednesday versus the Tigers.

Taylor gave up a tie-breaking three-run home run to Zack Short in the sixth inning, and the Royals were unable to catch up after that. Through 9.2 innings in May, Taylor has given up 12 runs (11 earned) on 14 hits and seven walks, though he has managed 12 strikeouts. The southpaw has a 7.13 ERA, 1.53 WHIP, 26:8 K:BB and one blown save through 17.2 innings overall. With a low-leverage role and poor numbers, Taylor is not on the fantasy radar.

Baumann (4-0) pitched a perfect inning and earned the win Wednesday over the Yankees.

Baumann entered for what appeared to be a low-leverage assignment with the Orioles down four runs in the sixth inning. Baltimore rallied for eight runs in the top of the seventh and held on to put Baumann in line for the win, his second in as many appearances. The right-hander has kept runs off the board in six of his last eight outings, though a 10:7 K:BB over 8.1 innings during that span isn't inspiring. He has a 3.81 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 27:13 K:BB through 26 innings this season.
