The Rays optioned Kelley to Triple-A Durham following their 8-5 loss to the Red Sox in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader

Kelley served as the opener for the afternoon contest, throwing 2.1 scoreless innings while striking out two and allowing one hit and no walks. Despite the strong performance, he'll head to the minors to allow the Rays to add fresh arms in Shawn Armstrong and Robert Stephenson for the nightcap.

The Yankees placed Weber on the 15-day injured list Saturday with a right forearm strain.

Weber has been one of the most reliable assets in the Yankees' bullpen since joining the team May 11, but his strained forearm will shut him down for at least 15 days. Nick Ramirez will come up from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to take Weber's place in the bullpen.

Armstrong (neck) was activated off the 60-day injured list Saturday.

A neck injury has kept Armstrong out all season, but he could be a key piece of the Rays' bullpen the rest of the way. After being released by the Marlins last May and returning to Tampa Bay, he recorded a 3.60 ERA backed by a 26.0 percent strikeout rate and 6.0 percent walk rate the rest of the way, earning a pair of saves. Jose La Sorsa was designated for assignment to create space on the 40-man roster.

The Guardians selected Kelly's contract from Triple-A Columbus on Saturday, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.

Kelly holds a strong 1.61 ERA and 36:13 K:BB through 22.1 frames in Triple-A and pitched well in his four major-league appearances last season with the Phillies. He'll replace Hunter Gaddis in Cleveland's bullpen and likely work in low-leverage situations to begin with. Peyton Battenfield (shoulder) was moved to the 60-day IL to make room for Kelly on the 40-man roster.

Kahnle pitched a scoreless inning against the Dodgers on Friday, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out one batter.

Kahnle had been out all season with a biceps injury before he was activated Thursday. The veteran reliever made his campaign debut against the team for which he played last year, though a forearm injury limited him to just 13 regular-season appearances with Los Angeles. Kahnle handled a pretty hefty workload Friday, tossing 29 pitches (17 strikes) and fanning James Outman after allowing a two-out double followed by a walk. The right-hander will likely get a chance to work in high-leverage situations for the Yankees pretty quickly, but with only 15 big-league games under his belt since 2019, he may not pitch in back-to-back contests for awhile.

Soriano was recalled Saturday from Double-A Rocket City, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.

Soriano will get his first taste of MLB action at age 24, presumably operating as a low-leverage bullpen option for the Angels. He had pitched to a 4.24 ERA with 31 strikeouts through 23.1 innings this season at the Double-A level.

Silseth was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake on Saturday, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.

Jose Soriano will join the Angels' bullpen in a corresponding roster move. Silseth has posted a 5.30 ERA and 15:13 K:BB in 18.2 innings this season at the MLB level.

Toronto recalled Jackson from Triple-A Buffalo on Saturday, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

The 35-year-old will give the Blue Jays an extra bullpen arm as starter Chris Bassitt heads out on paternity leave. Jackson will probably be sent back down when Bassitt returns next week, or when Zach Pop (hamstring) is activated from the IL.

Bernardino was called up to serve as the 27th man for Saturday's doubleheader against Tampa Bay.

Bernardino was claimed off waivers from Seattle in mid-April and is already onto his third separate stint on Boston's big-league roster this season. The lefty recorded a 3.38 ERA in 13.1 innings of relief during his previous opportunities this season, though that came with a low 19.0 percent strikeout rate.

Criswell was called up to serve as the 27th man for Saturday's doubleheader against the Red Sox.

Criswell has worked as a bulk reliever four times this season, struggling to a 6.46 ERA across 15.1 innings of work. He could be called on to fill a similar role behind opener Trevor Kelley in the first half of Saturday's twin bill.
