Pressly earned the save Tuesday in Tampa Bay, striking out one in two-thirds of an inning in a 5-0 victory.

Pressly entered the game in the ninth inning with the bases loaded and one out and eliminated the threat with a strikeout and line out. It was his 29th save of the season and the eighth consecutive save chance he's converted. Since returning from the injured list Sept. 9, he's recorded four saves and allowed one run and struck out nine in 4.2 innings across five appearances.

Oller (ribs) began his throwing progression Tuesday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Oller has been held out of action since being placed on the injured list Sept. 6, but he has officially begun the journey back. If all goes well, there is still a chance that Oller returns to Oakland's rotation before the end of the season.

A's manager Mark Kotsay said Tuesday it's unlikely that Jackson (shoulder) will pitch again this season, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Jackson has been making progress with his strained right shoulder, the issue is simply that there isn't enough time left in the season for Jackson to come back. The rookie reliever will likely have to wait until 2023 to pitch again following his 3.00 ERA, 1.27 WHIP campaign in 2022.

Rodriguez was outrighted off the Twins' 40-man roster Tuesday.

The 30-year-old was optioned to Triple-A St. Paul on Sunday and has now lost his place on the 40-man roster. Rodriguez has made only two big-league appearances this year and allowed three earned runs with a 4:4 K:BB over 7.2 innings.

Megill (undisclosed) was activated from the COVID-19 injured list Tuesday.

The 28-year-old landed on the COVID-19 IL over the weekend but will quickly rejoin Minnesota's active roster. Megill has appeared in 35 games this season and has a 3.89 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 45:14 K:BB across 41.2 innings.

Clarke (oblique) threw a live session Tuesday and felt good afterward, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Clarke will throw again Friday, and if all goes as planned, he will spend a little time on a minor-league rehab assignment before returning to Kansas City ahead of season's end. The 29-year-old reliever was in the middle of a career year, having posted a 4.02 ERA and 1.19 WHIP before being sidelined in early August with an oblique strain.

Vargas was optioned to Triple-A Columbus on Tuesday.

He was recalled last Friday and didn't appear in a game. Vargas should serve as organizational bullpen depth in 2023.

Anderson, who was optioned to Triple-A Durham on Aug. 22, won't pitch again this season after recently dealing with plantar fasciitis in his right foot, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

After performing as arguably one of the Rays' top relievers during the team's 2019 and 2020 postseason runs, Anderson has struggled to stay healthy over the subsequent two seasons. He spent the first four and half months of the current season on the injured list while recovering from the elbow surgery he underwent last October, and he had struggled to regain top form since returning to action for Durham. He logged a 5.63 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 12:3 K:BB in 16 innings for Durham before making his 17th and final appearance for the affiliate Sept. 10. The foot issue isn't considered a major concern, but he'll get a head start on his offseason nonetheless. The Rays may face a tough decision on whether to tender Anderson a contract heading into the 2023 season.

Marte was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake on Tuesday.

Marte has a 7.36 ERA, 2.36 WHIP and 15:18 K:BB in 11 innings in the majors across 11 appearances. Rob Zastryzny was recalled to take his place in the bullpen.

Honeywell, who was outrighted to Triple-A Las Vegas upon activation from the 60-day injured list Sept. 11, has allowed two earned runs on six hits over 3.1 innings while posting a 5:2 K:BB in his first two relief appearances with the Aviators.

Honeywell made a pair of 1.2-inning appearances out of the Las Vegas bullpen against Tacoma on Wednesday and Saturday. The right-hander allowed a pair of solo homers among four hits to the Rainiers on Wednesday, but he bore down to produce a scoreless effort with three punchouts Saturday. Honeywell's complicated, voluminous injury history makes any long-term outlook for him uncertain at best, but the organization hopes he can build some momentum at the tail end of the minor-league season before potentially getting a chance to compete for a big-league roster spot again in spring training.
