Barnes (shoulder) threw a bullpen session in Fort Myers, Fla. on Monday, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

This was the third bullpen session in the last six days for Barnes. The Red Sox have not yet offered a path for the right-hander's return to Boston. The team has been streaking since Barnes hit the IL -- those two events are coincidental -- and given the hurler's 7.94 ERA over 17 innings, the Red Sox are in no rush to add Barnes to the roster.

Murphy was promoted to Triple-A Worcester on Monday, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.

Murphy joins the WooSox rotation after dominating at Double-A Portland, posting a 2.58 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and a .170 BAA over 15 outings (13 starts) for the Sea Dogs. The left-hander's struck out 91 and walked 31 over 76.2 innings. Murphy throws a fastball up in the zone, along with a changeup, curveball and slider.

Iglesias earned a save against the White Sox on Monday, pitching a perfect ninth inning and striking out one batter.

Before the contest, Iglesias was handed a two-game suspension for his role in Sunday's brawl with Seattle, but he decided to file an appeal and was thus able to pitch in the game. He entered with the Angels clinging to a one-run lead in the ninth inning and retired the side in order on just 11 pitches. It was the fifth straight scoreless outing for the veteran closer, and he hasn't allowed any hits or walks while striking out nine over five innings during that span.

The Angels plan to call Silseth up from Double-A Rocket City to start Tuesday against the White Sox, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.

Silseth earned four starts with the Angels from mid-May to early June but was optioned back to Double-A after posting a 4.96 ERA and 1.47 WHIP across 16.1 innings. If Silseth can improve his performance this time around, he should have the chance to stick in the rotation after Reid Detmers was demoted to Triple-A Salt Lake on Wednesday.

Ward (elbow) threw a sim game recently and is hoping to begin a rehab assignment shortly, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.

Ward underwent Tommy John surgery in June of 2021 and is ramping up his recovery. He seemingly remains on track to get some work in late this summer after being activated from the injured list, though Boston is likely to take a cautious approach to Ward's recovery.

Wantz received a three-game suspension for his actions in Sunday's brawl with the Mariners, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.

Wantz was ejected from Sunday's game after hitting Jesse Winker with a pitch and inciting the further incident. He is not appealing the discipline, so will be unavailable for the team's three-game set with the White Sox.

Iglesias has been suspended two games for his actions in Sunday's brawl with the Mariners, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.

Iglesias was among seven players to be suspended for the brawl. He appears to be appealing the ban, so he should be available for Monday's game against the White Sox and until a final ruling is delivered.

Guardians manager Terry Francona said Pilkington will be called up from Triple-A Columbus to start one game of Tuesday's doubleheader with the Twins in Cleveland, Chris Assenheimer of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.

The skipper didn't disclose whether Pilkington would take the hill for the early game or the late game, but the Guardians are expected to designate him as the 27th man for the twin bill and will likely option him back to Columbus immediately following the doubleheader. After Tuesday's start, Pilkington may not have to wait long to get another opportunity with the big club, as the Guardians won't have any off days before playing another doubleheader July 4 in Detroit.

Chapman (Achilles) will make a rehab appearance at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Chapman's appearance in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday is expected to be his final rehab outing prior to him rejoining the major-league club. Over his first two Triple-A appearances, he struck out two in two scoreless innings. It's possible that the Yankees wait to activate the southpaw from the injured list Thursday if they don't want him to pitch on back-to-back days, but his return is imminent. Manager Aaron Boone said Monday that Clay Holmes has "certainly earned the closer's role," so it's possible that the Yankees ease Chapman back into action with some setup duties, Laura Albanese of Newsday reports.

Richards (neck) threw a live batting practice session Monday, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

Facing live hitters is likely the final hurdle that Richards needs to clear before the Blue Jays send him out for a minor-league rehab assignment. The 29-year-old right-hander had supplied a 6.59 ERA and 1.57 WHIP across 28.2 innings out of the Toronto bullpen this season before landing on the 15-day injured list June 18 with a strained neck. According to Mitch Bannon of SI.com, Richards said he was shut down from throwing for only a few days due to the injury, and he expects to be ready to come off the IL when first eligible July 3.
