Yang cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Round Rock on Thursday.

Yang was cast off the 40-man roster Wednesday, but he'll remain in Round Rock after he went unclaimed on waivers. The southpaw has made 10 appearances (nine starts) at the Triple-A level this year and has recorded a 5.60 ERA and 1.38 WHIP in 45 innings.

Patino will start Friday's game against the Tigers, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Patino was initially slated to start Saturday, but he'll be pushed up a day. However, the right-hander will still be pitching on normal rest since he last pitched Sunday versus the Tigers, when he gave up two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out three in 4.1 innings.

Jimenez (illness) has reported to Triple-A Toledo to resume working out, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Jimenez tested positive for COVID-19 in early September, but he'll now begin building back up with the minor-league club. The right-hander will require at least one rehab appearance before he's activated, but it's not yet clear when he'll pitch for Toledo.

Loaisiga (shoulder) is expected to resume throwing Friday, Marly Rivera of ESPN.com reports.

Loaisiga landed on the 10-day injured list with a strained rotator cuff Sept. 5, and he'll resume playing catch just under two weeks later. The right-hander doesn't yet have a clear timetable to return, but his status should come into focus once he's able to ramp up his throwing.

Lopez (ankle) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Thursday.

Lopez's move to the 60-day IL is simply procedural after the Orioles announced last week that the right-hander has been shut down and won't return in 2021 due to a sprained ankle. Right-hander Brooks Kriske was claimed off waivers from the Yankees and optioned to Triple-A Norfolk in a corresponding move.

Mayers (5-5) earned the win over the White Sox on Wednesday, striking out the side in his lone inning of work.

The right-hander took over in the seventh inning with the score tied 2-2. He needed 16 pitches to strike out all three batters he faced, and he picked up the win as a result of Brandon Marsh's homer in the top of the following frame. Mayers has struck out 82 batters in 66.1 innings this season while notching a career-high 15 holds and two saves.

Peralta (5-3) took the win over Baltimore on Wednesday, allowing one hit and retiring one batter via strikeout.

Peralta came into the contest with two outs in the eighth inning and the Yankees down by a run. He allowed a single to Anthony Santander but finished the frame by striking out Ramon Urias. The southpaw was credited with the win as a result of New York rallying for two runs in the top of the ninth. Peralta has struck out five batters in his last 3.2 frames but has also walked five over that stretch.

Romano struck out one in a perfect ninth inning Wednesday to record his 18th save of the season in a 6-3 win over the Rays.

The Jays closer had a bumpy couple outings earlier in September, but for the most part Romano has been outstanding this season. He sports a 2.41 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 73:20 K:BB through 56 innings, and he's picked up a win (seven), save or hold (five) in 30 of his 56 appearances.

Hernandez (6-2) allowed seven earned runs on nine hits and four walks while striking out three across four innings to take the loss Wednesday against the Athletics.

Entering Wednesday's outing, Hernandez had allowed multiple runs in only two of his last eight starts and had completed at least six innings six times in that span. While he allowed only a solo home run and no additional extra-base hits, Hernandez walked four batters -- his highest total since July 24. Control of the strike zone is an emerging concern for Hernandez, as he has now surrendered 10 free passes across his last 16 innings of work. Despite the poor outing and some concerning trends in his skills, Hernandez likely deserves the benefit of the doubt heading into his next start based on his excellent results across the last two months.

Chafin allowed one earned run on two hits and two walks while striking out one across 1.1 innings to earn the save Wednesday against the Royals.

Chafin bailed Jake Diekman out of a jam by recording the final out in the eighth inning. He remained on the mound for the final frame, but he had trouble of his own by allowing the first three batters he faced to reach base. Chafin settled down to escape the jam, though the bases were loaded when he recorded the final out to earn his fourth save of the season. This was his first outing since blowing a save and taking the loss Sept. 11, though he appears to be the Athletics' chosen closer for the time being despite his recent struggles.
