Barria allowed two earned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out two across 4.2 innings in the win over the Yankees on Tuesday. He did not factor into the decision.

Barria's 4.2 innings was the deepest outing he's had in his past four starts. He surrendered a pair of solo home runs, one by Anthony Rizzo and the other by Gary Sanchez. The 24-year-old has a 5.40 ERA and 1.54 WHIP with a low 4.9 K/9 in 38.1 innings this season.

Graveman (5-1) took the loss in Tuesday's 4-0 defeat at the hands of the Mariners, allowing four runs on two hits and a walk while recording his only out via strikeout.

Graveman entered a scoreless game in the eighth and permitted a walk, strikeout, single and hit a batter before serving up a go-ahead grand slam to Abraham Toro -- the player Houston gave up to acquire Graveman. The four runs allowed on the one swing are only one less than the five he had surrendered all season prior to Tuesday, and as a result the 30-year-old's ERA jumped from 1.00 to 1.79. However, one blowup outing shouldn't alter Graveman's role in Houston's bullpen moving forward.

Sewald (9-3) got the win in Tuesday's 4-0 dispatching of the Astros, allowing one hit with three strikeouts in one inning.

Sewald entered a scoreless game in the eighth inning and worked around a Jose Altuve single to record all three outs via the strikeout. He fell in line for the win after Seattle took the lead in the bottom half of the frame. Aside from a poor outing Aug. 5, the 31-year-old delivered a sensational August featuring three wins, saves and holds apiece in 12 appearances.

Junis (2-4) took the loss after pitching 4.2 innings against Cleveland on Tuesday, allowing three runs on four hits and a walk while striking out six.

The 28-year-old got called up Tuesday from Triple-A Omaha and the start was his first action in the majors since June 3. A first-inning home run and a two-run single in the third inning by Amed Rosario accounted for all the damage against the right-hander. In what was Junis' longest outing since April 27, he was able to grind out a decent start, but it is currently up in the air whether he'll make another start for the big-league club.

Baker will have his contract selected from Triple-A Buffalo when rosters expand Wednesday, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.

Baker has been lights-out for Buffalo this season with a 1.36 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 40:16 K:BB across 33 innings, and he'll now receive his first opportunity in the majors. The right-hander figures to fill a low-leverage role out of the bullpen in his first taste of the big leagues.

Pearson (groin) will be recalled from Triple-A Buffalo on Wednesday, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.

The 25-year-old was activated from the minor-league injured list in mid-August after recovering from the groin injury, and he gave up two runs on three hits with a 5:2 K:BB in five innings over five outings for Triple-A Buffalo. Pearson and Bryan Baker will be promoted from Buffalo to fill the two roster spots opening up with Wednesday's roster expansion. Pearson started in his lone appearance in the majors this year back in May, but he'll now operate as a bullpen piece.

Hendriks picked up the save Tuesday, pitching one scoreless inning while giving up one hit to the Pirates.

The 32-year-old gave up a single to Kevin Newman with one out, but he induced a game-ending double play from the next batter he faced, Hoy Park. The save marked Hendriks' 30th of the season, second only to Mark Melancon's 36. After back-to-back difficult outings against the Yankees earlier this month in which he surrendered six total runs, Hendriks has rebounded nicely and has only given up one run over his last six appearances.

Kimbrel tossed a clean eighth inning, allowing no baserunners while striking out one in Tuesday's win over the Pirates.

The 33-year-old was able to pick up a hold and avoid giving up any runs in the contest, something he'd only done twice in his previous six outings. He has struggled since joining the White Sox at the trade deadline, surrendering nine earned runs in 11.1 innings pitched after he had only given up a total of two earned runs in 37.2 innings for the Cubs prior to getting dealt. Some of his struggles can likely be attributed to his new role as a setup man, which he is unfamiliar with.

Kowar will be recalled from Triple-A Omaha to start Wednesday against Cleveland, Josh Vernier of 610 Sports Kansas City reports.

Kowar made his big-league debut in June and returned to the minors after surrendering 10 earned runs over five innings (three appearances), and he'll rejoin the Royals on Wednesday for another look. The 24-year-old hasn't been particularly effective at Triple-A since the demotion with a 5.14 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 74:24 K:BB, though he's given up two runs with a 16:2 K:BB in his past two outings (11 innings).

Herget had his contract selected by the Angels on Tuesday.

Herget inked a minor-league deal with the Angels on Aug. 17 and will join the big-league roster after surrendering seven runs over 4.2 frames in four appearances with Triple-A Salt Lake.
