Misiewicz (forearm) is expected to come off the injured list when first eligible Saturday, the team's official site reports.

Misiewicz hit the IL on Saturday, but the move was made retroactive to Wednesday. That makes this coming Saturday the reliever's earliest possible activation date, which manager Scott Servais confirmed Misiewicz should be able to meet. The 26-year-old didn't allow an earned run in nine of his last 10 outings before going on the shelf, posting two holds during that span as well.

Anderson (elbow) has allowed four earned runs on seven hits -- including two home runs -- and a walk while recording five strikeouts over the 3.2 innings covering his last three rehab appearances for Triple-A Durham.

The right-hander allowed at least one earned run in four straight turns from Aug. 17-25 before producing an encouraging scoreless frame against Charlotte on Saturday in his most recent outing. The team's official site reports that manager Kevin Cash was informed Anderson's fastball clocked in at up to 94 mph during the appearance, an encouraging sign that his recovering elbow is strengthening. The 31-year-old remains without a firm return timetable, but it appears likely Anderson will need at least a couple more minor-league outings for both confidence and arm-strengthening purposes.

The Red Sox selected Gonsalves' contract from Triple-A Worcester prior to Tuesday's game against the Rays.

A COVID-19 outbreak has ravaged Boston's roster, the bullpen in particular, so Gonsalves joins the team as much-needed pitching depth. The lefty went three innings as recently as Aug. 19, so he could prove useful in a mop-up role Tuesday, assuming newcomer Brad Peacock doesn't provide much length on short rest. Gonsalves' only big-league action came in 2018 when he had a 6.57 ERA in 24.2 innings with Minnesota.

Fairbanks, who was activated from the injured list Friday, fired a perfect eighth inning in a win over the Red Sox on Monday, striking out the side and securing his 11th hold.

The hard-throwing right-hander didn't see action over the weekend, so Monday represented his first time back on the big-league mound since July 28. Fairbanks had allowed three runs (two earned) over his last two outings before going on the shelf, but he'd forged an eight-appearance scoreless streak immediately prior to that stretch that Monday's dominant performance was reminiscent of.

Feyereisen recorded his 12th hold in a win over the Red Sox on Monday, allowing a hit and recording two strikeouts across 1.1 scoreless innings.

Feyereisen was activated from the injured list earlier in the day after overcoming biceps and shoulder issues and immediately proved his health with a sharp 19-pitch outing. Now that he's back in the fold, Feyereisen should enjoy steady work moving forward although his significant control issues (5.4 BB/9) may limit the amount of high-leverage assignments he sees.

King (finger) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday.

King has been out since early July with a bruised finger. He'll likely need a handful of rehab appearances given the length of his absence.

Thornton was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday.

Thornton owns an unremarkable 4.60 ERA in 47 major-league innings this season. He allowed four runs on 11 hits in 7.2 innings of work during his latest stint with the team. He'll head to the minors as the Blue Jays clear a spot for Danny Jansen (hamstring) to return from the injured list.

Hand was designated for assignment by the Blue Jays on Tuesday, Mitch Bannon of SI.com reports.

Hand was eligible to return from the bereavement list, but the Blue Jays elected not to clear a spot for him on the active roster. It's quite the fall from grace for the veteran lefty, who has 126 saves to his name, including 21 this season. All of his saves this year came prior to being traded from Washington to Toronto. Following the move to the Blue Jays, Hand allowed 10 runs (seven earned) in 8.2 innings while striking out just five batters, though his past success would suggest he still has a good chance of being claimed off waivers.

Yang was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday.

Yang was recalled last Tuesday and wound up making one appearance, allowing two hits across two scoreless innings against the Astros on Saturday. He'll return to Round Rock for the time being but figures to be an option to rejoin the major-league squad when rosters expand to 28 on Wednesday.

Bolanos (elbow) moved his rehab assignment to Triple-A Omaha on Tuesday.

On the injured list since June 15 with a right flexor strain, Bolanos was cleared to head out on a minor-league rehab assignment just under two months later. After starting his rehab in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League, Bolanos made his past three appearances at Double-A Northwest Arkansas, covering 6.1 total innings while serving up six runs (five earned) on seven hits and eight walks. He'll likely be in store for at least a couple appearances at Triple-A before the Royals consider bringing him back from the 60-day IL.
