Chris Martin RP | TEX
Rangers' Chris Martin: Could avoid rehab assignment
Martin (shoulder) will toss a bullpen session Sunday, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Martin landed on the 15-day injured list May 20 due to right shoulder fatigue. He has been cleared to resume his throwing program, and Rangers manager Bruce Bochy relayed Saturday that Martin may not need a rehab assignment as long as he doesn't suffer any setbacks. Martin posted a 1.83 ERA, 0.92 WHIP, nine holds and a 23:3 K:BB across 19.2 innings prior to his placement on the IL.

Cionel Perez RP | WAS
Orioles' Cionel Perez: Outrighted to Triple-A
Perez was outrighted to Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday after clearing waivers, Francys Romero of BeisbolFR.com reports.
Perez was DFA'd by the Orioles last Saturday after logging an 8.31 ERA, 2.12 WHIP and 21:18 K:BB across 21.2 innings. He'll remain in the Orioles organization and report to Triple-A, where he'll look to regain his control and perform well enough to warrant a return to the majors.

Jose Urena SP | LAA
Blue Jays' Jose Urena: Designated for assignment
The Blue Jays designated Urena for assignment Saturday.
Urena has surrendered five earned runs in 12.1 innings since joining the Blue Jays on May 3. Despite his improved performance after a rough start with the Mets, he'll now be pushed off the 26-man and 40-man rosters to make room for Easton Lucas, who was recalled to Toronto in a corresponding move. Urena owns a 4.78 ERA and 1.40 WHIP across his MLB career, but his recent run with the Jays may capture the attention of other teams in need of pitching help.

Anthony Maldonado RP | HOU
Athletics' Anthony Maldonado: Sent back to Triple-A
The Athletics optioned Maldonado to Triple-A Las Vegas on Saturday.
After being recalled from Triple-A on May 20, Maldonado gave up six earned runs in just five innings while striking out five batters and walking five more. The A's will now send him back to the minors to right the ship and recall Osvaldo Bido as the 27-year-old's replacement.

Andrew Walters P | CLE
Guardians' Andrew Walters: Removed with injury
Walters was removed from Friday's game with what appeared to an injury in the area of his shoulder, arm and back, MLB.com reports.
Walters grabbed at the area in obvious pain following a pitch in the ninth inning and was immediately removed. The right-hander will undergo an MRI on Saturday, and manager Stephen Vogt described the injury as "not good" following the game.

Will Vest RP | DET
Tigers' Will Vest: Notches eighth save
Vest gave up a run on two hits while striking out one in the ninth inning Friday to record his eighth save of the season in a 7-5 win over the Royals.
It's the second straight appearance in which Vest has been charged with a run, but he held a 0.00 ERA in 12 May innings prior to that. The right-hander is the lead dog in the Tigers' closer committee right now, picking up three of the team's last four saves, and on the season Vest sports a 2.00 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 29:9 K:BB through 27 innings while converting eight of his 10 save chances.

Andres Munoz RP | SEA
Mariners' Andres Munoz: Blows save Friday
Munoz allowed three runs on four hits and struck out two without walking a batter over one inning, taking a blown save in Friday's 12-6 extra-inning loss to the Twins.
Munoz fell apart in the ninth inning, allowing a two-run home run to Willi Castro and the game-tying RBI single to Trevor Larnach. The earned runs were the first of the year for Munoz. The 26-year-old is still at a sterling 1.09 ERA, 0.81 WHIP and 31:8 K:BB while converting 17 of 20 save chances over 24.2 innings.

Garrett Cleavinger RP | TB
Rays' Garrett Cleavinger: Rare misstep
Cleavinger (0-1) allowed one earned run on one hit while striking out two across two-thirds of an inning to take the loss Friday against the Astros.
Cleavinger has been one of the Rays' most reliable high-leverage relievers this season, and he's maintained an impressive 27:4 K:BB across 21.1 frames while turning in scoreless efforts in 17 of 23 appearances. He stumbled Friday, however, allowing a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning after striking out the first two batters he faced to take his first loss of the campaign.

Garrett Whitlock RP | BOS
Red Sox's Garrett Whitlock: Fourth win in scoreless outing
Whitlock (4-0) earned the win Friday against Atlanta after allowing one hit and one walk in 1.2 scoreless innings. He struck out two.
Whitlock has now registered at least one punchout in each of his nine outings in May. The 28-year-old right-hander is an important multi-inning weapon for the Red Sox, although that hasn't translated to much fantasy appeal. Through 29.1 innings, Whitlock owns a 3.68 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 36:13 K:BB with three holds and zero saves.

Braydon Fisher P | TOR
Blue Jays' Braydon Fisher: Serving as opener Saturday
Fisher will work as the Blue Jays' opening pitcher for Saturday's game against the Athletics, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.
Fisher will be making his first start at any level since his time with Double-A Tulsa in the Dodgers organization 2023. The 24-year-old righty has been great out of the bullpen since joining the Blue Jays earlier this month, tossing 8.1 shutout innings while striking out 12 batters and walking one. The Blue Jays will likely look to get an inning or two out of Fisher before he turns the came over to the bullpen, with both Eric Lauer and Paxton Schultz representing candidates to cover multiple innings behind Fisher.
