Manager Kevin Cash said that Fleming will remain in the rotation this week, Eduardo A. Encina of the Tampa Bay Times reports. He lines up to start Friday's series opener in Miami.

The Rays recently lost Yonny Chirinos (elbow) for the season and aren't likely to get Charlie Morton (shoulder) back from the 10-day injured list until at least next week, so Fleming will get at least one more start after holding his own during his MLB debut over the weekend. The southpaw was credited with the win in Sunday's 5-4 victory over the Blue Jays after holding Toronto to two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out three over five innings.

The Blue Jays placed Thornton (elbow) on the 10-day injured list Monday, Scott Mitchell of TSN.ca reports.

Toronto recalled reliever Travis Bergen from the taxi squad to take Thornton's spot on the 28-man active roster, but the team will first require a replacement for the right-hander in the rotation Friday against the Orioles. Anthony Kay covered three innings of long relief after Thornton exited Sunday's loss to the Rays with the injury, so Kay would represent a logical option to fill the opening in the Jays' pitching schedule. Thornton is first eligible to return from the IL on Sept. 3.

Giles (forearm) has been playing catch and feels good, Scott Mitchell of TSN.ca reports.

It sounds like his status continues to improve, as this is essentially the same update we had on Aug. 15. He is without a timetable to return, but it seems like he is on track to return this season if he can avoid setbacks.

Junis (back) is traveling with the Royals on their road trip and could be activated from the 10-day injured list to start or work as a primary pitcher out of the bullpen Wednesday in St. Louis, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.

Kansas City is expected to have an opening in the rotation Wednesday with Danny Duffy not on track to make his next start on schedule while he deals with forearm fatigue. If Duffy is placed on the IL or pushed back to the weekend, Junis would be a logical option to fill in for him, given that he now looks to be reasonably healthy after completing a throwing session over the weekend without incident. Since Junis hasn't quite built back up to a starter's workload since being shut down earlier this month due to back spasms, the primary pitcher role may be a good way for the Royals to limit his pitch count once he's cleared to return.

Foster worked around a hit in a scoreless eighth inning in Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Cubs.

Foster extended his scoreless streak to 13.1 innings. He's allowed four hits and three walks while striking out 17 over nine appearances.

Hendriks (2-0) pitched a scoreless 10th inning and did not allow a baserunner to earn the win Sunday against the Angels.

Hendriks was called upon to keep the game tied in extra innings. He made quick work of the Angels, retiring the side in order on just 11 pitches. The Athletics scored in the bottom of the inning to record the walk-off win, providing Hendriks with his second victory of the season. He's been strong throughout the campaign, racking up a 21:3 K:BB with a 1.17 ERA and nine saves across 15.1 innings.

Cisnero tossed two-thirds of an inning Sunday, allowing no runs on no hits and no walks while striking out one as he earned the save against Cleveland.

Joe Jimenez came on in the ninth inning to see if he could turn things around in a non-save situation. However, he was hit hard once again as he allowed three runs while recording only one out. Cisnero was much more effective as he recorded the final two outs of the game to earn his first career save. The right-hander has been dominant this season with a 1.76 ERA and 16:5 K:BB over 15.1 innings. Although Jimenez may be losing his hold on the closer role, Buck Farmer could be the first in line to pick up saves on a more regular basis if Jimenez is relieved of ninth-inning duties.

Rogers picked up the save in Sunday's win over the Royals, allowing one run on two hits in one inning pitched. He struck out one.

Rogers entered the game with the Twins leading 5-3 in the ninth. He allowed a double to Hunter Dozier and an RBI single to Maikel Franco but got Alex Gordon to fly out to end the game. Rogers now has six saves on the campaign, but he will look to bring down his 5.23 ERA moving forward.

Smeltzer gave up two runs on three hits in Sunday's 5-4 win over Kansas City. He struck out one and did not issue a walk.

Smeltzer followed Matt Wilser again, but his outing was not nearly as successful as his previous one. A hit-by-pitch and a pair of doubles led to two Royals runs in the third. He was able to pitch around an error and a single in the fourth but still saw his ERA grow to 6.59 on the campaign.

Scott allowed one run on two hits and no walks while striking out zero over one-third of an inning as he earned the save Sunday against the Red Sox.

The Orioles entered the ninth inning with a three-run lead, but Mychal Givens struggled to begin the inning. Scott was called on to get out of the jam, and he narrowly did so to earn the first save of his career. While the save is a nice surprise for fantasy managers, he's unlikely to receive save chances on a regular basis due to the Orioles' willingness to rotate pitchers to close out games.
